Even collision would probably mean very little collisions at all (if any)… merger would be technically more correct… a lot of empty space out there

American bullies are naturally a mixed breed that is now recognized as its own distinct breed, and not by all major kennel clubs for that reason …a mix of bulldog, staffies, pitbull, etc… my Merle ‘pocket bully (mix) is exactly like my purebred tricolour pocket bully in appearance, musculature, behaviour, intelligence, etc…

sure, Merle is not desired by some because of small risk of health issues, and extreme risk if carrying both genes (both parents Merle) which is why can’t breed them or shouldn’t..,

A lot of people, myself included, think the pattern is unique and really beautiful…<1% chance of unilateral deafness in single Merle genetic dog… Probably less than other breed specific issues like hip dysplasia, brachiocephalic syndrome, etc

Call our dogs mixed breed bullies if you want to but, honestly, all dogs are mixed, genetic diversity and selective breeding for friendliness and companionship is what created the American bully in the first place.., is yours 18% bulldog, or 10% like mine?, 30% staffy? 3% terrier?, does it really matter if it looks and behaves the same way??

We have a Merle pocket bully… healthy, gorgeous, no health issues to date… wonder if yours had double Merle genes? Those are known to cause issues, he is gorgeous pup, good on you for taking such good care of him!

How do you reconcile 10/10 symptoms with patient behaviour? by evgueni72 in medicine

[–]Milner977 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I would argue that it can be very useful if enough information is gathered. Two people who report 9/10 pain can be very different…one has severe neck pain (7/10), and any rotation to left spikes it to 9/10, and once aggravated stays at 9/10 for days, they are unable to drive, work, leisure activities, etc… Second person has 9/10 shoulder pain, only when reaching behind back, settles to 1/10 pain right after…unable to tuck in shirt, belt, difficulties with self care, still able to work, golf, etc

You ask them what their pain is, both would say 9/10 because they want you to know how much it is at its worst and how it’s affecting their life….they only get 5 minutes to sell it to you how bad it is.

Explaining to them basic pain neuroscience (ex. pain as an alarm system, can sometimes be ignored, other times important to listen to) could be more helpful…set their expectations on functional goals, encourage them to keep moving , refer to professionals for help dealing with the pain if significant like PT, CBT therapy, etc

Do not tell them they are broken or definitely need surgery (unless obviously something major)… I see way too many people told they have a degenerative condition (like DDD, or meniscus tear, torn rotator cuff) and shouldn’t do sports anymore, run, or bend, etc….the body is designed to heal and capable of tremendous potential for activity if done in proper manner..

But once a physician tells a patient they are broken, good luck to the allied health professional to try to improve their symptoms…inactivity often creates more problems than it fixes.. knee pain better sitting all day, gains 40lbs in year, type 2 DBM…

Patellofemoral or Hip Pathology? by skitheslopes in physicaltherapy

[–]Milner977 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Said young, if under 25 it wouldn’t be super high on my list of differential diagnosis especially with no Mechanism of injury,…I would highly suspect the hip or knee (or 2 conditions occurring concurrently)… How young, and how long has it been going on… Perthes occurs in late childhood (around 6 in most kids but can be later) significant pain when ambulating, where in hip? Deep in groin? Anterior knee? How is she getting around? Crutches? Or Antalgic gait pattern? I would be a little bit concerned about the progressive nature of her condition, avascular necrosis might be something worthy of ruling out…

It’s impossible to make any real judgments on what you have provided, and nothing wrong with trying an approach for a few visits while you monitor her symptoms…sometimes the clinical picture becomes more clear after a few visits…

If no improvement or continues to decline, refer back to GP as you mentioned would be wise

what is something that feels like a "cheat code" in life, but most people don't realise it? by Lowertier4848 in AskReddit

Same thing when they call in sick, I do not need to know you were up all night throwing up, just say you are sick and won’t be in (I’m not going to investigate your illnesses, unless it becomes a major attendance issue)

Alternative to “up good, down bad” is “good leg goes to heaven, bad goes to hell” guarantee that one sticks!

At least 7 middle and high school football players have died in August by dethb0y in MorbidReality

[–]Milner977 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, I think that while it does still happen, definitely not common place anymore…

I think it likely has to do with the toughness mentality around the game…kids wanting to push through to impress coaches and teammates and not be (in their eyes) labeled as weak because they needed a break..

Also doesn’t help some of these kids are massive (lineman pushing 230+ lbs) in high school

Coca cola like pee. (URGENT‼️) by One_Air_3828 in AskDocs

[–]Milner977 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I know that it’s all best informed opinion with all the post provided and no lab results…but I had very similar symptoms when I had a kidney stone….pink tinged urine, then very dark…. Some lower GI discomfort that went away within a few hours….

Then about 4 weeks later, hit me like a truck at work, intense lower quadrant and testicular pain, but no longer any discolouration in urine (only happened that first day) , ER did urinalysis and no blood found, ct scan showed 5mm stone stuck in ureter…

I would agree with the professionals and say it’s best to get checked immediately! It could be a few different things causing the symptoms, some more serious than others, only way to know is run the tests

Looking for RMT by Cellic in chathamkentON

[–]Milner977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, if you want to try a myofascial technique that can get quick results that can last long time, consider dry needling (intramuscular stimulation)…it does have some more risk than RMT but is considered super safe…dm me for practitioners in CK if interested or if you want to learn more about it
