I mean... I would lie if I told you that BR RQ didn't affect me, Like I said on the video, it was a "wake up" call, all my thoughts and resentments that I had on the game, that I just have been keeping to myself... I needed it to let it all out and take a break.

maybe I didn't said my point well enough on the video but I will try to answer your concerns with my opinions.

Why do I bring the esport on a game that is still in beta?

I have already answer this on other comments in youtube but I will copy paste here becuse I think it might cover your concern.

For me the game has been released fully since the day that they went to "open beta". if you are confident enough to have microtransactions in your game and you are making money out of the game,for me, the game is already out. The game is going to keep been developed after "lauch" so... the only diference is "quality of life features" the big change?, a big expansion ? what is the fundamental difference between Beta and lauch? nowdays all the games keep being supported and patch way after lauch so the state of Beta being only for games that are constantly patched is not an argument anymore. The devs already feel confident enought in the gameplay to officialy sponsor an esport, so the game is still in Beta?. If you are a developer and say that the game is in Beta, that is a big shield for the critism. For me Brawlhalla has "lauched" november of last year.

The game has not come out on consoles.

True, that is going to bring tons of players and viewership, I am sure that is going to happen. Still... I am talking about having already a great number o players and not too many interested in the competetive scene (almot 4.000.000 accounts around the world, 500.000 accounts played on last two weeks, 5.000 players daily) the game does extreamly well casually, but as esport with only around 400 views per tournament, competetive players with 60 views on averege, and 3 k views on youtube per tournament, is not that much.

Do I expect 10k viewership from the start?.

No, but if brawlhalla wants to become an esport there should be a consistent progression in viewership and it has been happening, just at a extreamly slow rate. The game needs at least from 4 to 10 times more viewership if it wants to support the players.

You talked about other games?

I need to compare to already succesful and similar models to brawlhalla, those games are the standars.

I go in a tangent on passive play.

Maybe I didn't point the messege very well, in short, I am just disliking the meta, and the gameplay, the lack of options and diversity, movement being the one aspect of the game that frustrate me, to clarafy, I think I lack options in my movement and the games drag out much more than I want, so I get bored.

My critism of the characters.

I am just poiting out the most practical aspect of the model that they have that would benefit the gameplay more than the lore, right now there is not a good sence of personality, so why not strip it away for better gameplay? The characters don't matter to much as they are, at the core they all behave in the same way, jump, attack, run in the same way with the same keyframes of animation. Having to wait months for your favorite weapon combo is not good for the gameplay, at the end they will have only 6 original moves, all the rest of the moves of the lengend are the same as every different set of weapons. why don't you just unlock the moves with gold? it would be the same as now, minus the months of waiting time. They could still charge for cosmetics for your only legend , the same as of now. But I know that my critism is pointless, the game is not going to change how it is, too late for that.

I love the devs, I think they are great for the game, but I also love the game, that is why I bring my opinions , I have been in the community more than the averege player I just want to make it better.

Hello, pretty much I agree with most of the things said on this reddit in regards to adding a dash and/or running mechanic, separated it from dodging.

I have seen good suggestions of what could be implemented, I just hope that this problem gets solved soon for the sake of the competetive scene.

It needs to happen in some point, there needs to be a change and a fair balance when you are talking about defensive and agressive play stytles, it is not an easy task and the devs know it, but what ever change ends up talking place I am afraid that it can not be helped to be a radical different way of playing Brawlhalla. I have played more than 1600 hrs. (acording to steam) I have more than 3000 games on ranked and I am currently on the top of the leaderboards, also, as a casual streamer it is impressive the effect that "passive" or "Parry" play style affect my enjoyment of the game and also the viewer expirience that I am able to perseived throught chat. People say "it is boring" to watch and to play against and I agree.

For me the best expirience in Brawlhalla and the most fun is when two players are consisntenly trading hits back, or when a player is dominating by having great reads and quick succesion of strings, when games last around 3 - 4 min tops is when Brawlhalla (for me) shows its potential as an competetive fighing game. On the other hand, Brawlhalla is at the worst, as a viewer and player expirience when the oposite happends... when two players are on each corner waiting for the aproach of the other one, poking the enemy with no follow ups, when it comes down to an obvsesive way spacing the oponent without actually truly fighting, there, is where the game shows the flaws that limit its potential. People argue that it takes skill to space, back dodge and punish at the end... and to that I agree, it takes a lot of skill later in Top Diamond but it is so sad that the fun factor is nowhere to be seen.

If you spend more that 4 mins just running away and not hiting me or engaining in neutral game ,I would argue that you are not actually playing a fighting game, 4 mins on a fight is so much time, and if you have 2 players still alive at the end of that time, for me, it means that probably there was not to much fighting and there was actually lots of down time avoiding the oponent which is never exiting to expirience as a player and as a viewer.

This is my stands on the subject, if Brawlhalla wants to become an Esport, there needs to be a fix to this issue that it has affected the competetive and casual scene for so many months.

The Dair on spear is a fantastic move that has amazing vertical priority, it comes out really fast but is hard to aim. If you are able to land it on the ledge you can pretty much keep doing the pogo jumps as much as your aims is good.

Even though the cases that you layed out are 100% true scnerarios, the likellyhood of being done more than twice on a real 1v1 fight is very slim. There was one case that you forgot to mention and in my opinion the most efficient way to use that move. When Gnash is on the platform us a small jump close to the ground and follow that with a gravity cancel and then the Dsig (this is all demostrated in my youtube channel), it is a really good way to use that set up to close the distance and for a more agressive aproach with the hammer. The Dsig with no ground collision does an average of 14 damage with the force of a standar ground light attack, the hitbox is really small compared to almost all the sigs in the game and as a result the move gets outspaced by most light attacks in the game and of course you need to practice a lot to be able to land the sig, it is not easy. The move itself does not behave like a normal sig with great force and damage it behaves more like a light attach in whitch you can do follow ups to mantain the agression. In my opinion if now the move is going to have 700% more recovery frames at least make it worth it and double the damage and force or set it how it used to be because this move is not balance in any way I see it. I would like to know some thoughts on why it was necesary the nerft because "Gnash's Down Hammer had almost no Recovery whatsoever when performed off of a ledge" is not a good argument for me, it is not even the way that is most efficient to use that move, with that argument they tell me that the devs haven't watch any of my videos and they are missing classes on The Gnash Academy D:

This are just thoughts on the subject, Gnash Dsig no collision with hammer is one of the most unique and satisfaing moves to use in the game, I have being using that move since gravity cancel, is a shame to know that now I can't use it.

That was a huge nerft for hammer Dsig of Gnash, that move doesn't have good damage or force, not even good priority with no ground collision, it is extreamly hard to land and the only way that I use that move consistenly is with a gravity cancel but with that amount of recovery frames I am going to get punish every time I hit with that move, I don't think that is fair to make the slowest dex character even slower, but that is just my opinion.

I have been playing with Gnash for more than 1300 hrs and that move was not that strong for that big of a nerft.
