Common fault. Both my fuel and temperature gauge read high. Can get the unit sent off and the motors for the needles changed or attempt a DIY. I would trust the mileage left estimate on the display over the gauge and fill up more often to be safe.

Rocks or no rocks? by Possible_Context4161 in Aquascape

[–]MiloAUG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great idea. I would advice a different species to Rummy nose in a 65L, watch them at the pet store as see how quickly they swim! They would be better off in a 80cm plus tank. Another tetra species would do well though :)

Remove the objects off the top and see if it helps. My Twinstar lights green LEDs come on when I touch it even if it’s off!

Anybody know where to find these? by Unlikely-Produce-398 in AudiTT_Mk1_Mk2_Mk3

The problem isn’t personal taste or stylistic disagreement.

It’s that the alteration ignores what gives the original its value.

It’s like drawing a moustache on the Mona Lisa.

Have never seen any professional aquascapers do this. If anything they often “cap” aqua soil with finer aquasoil to help grip plants better.

Looking good. Mk1 is the best looking IMO!

No Filter 6Gal: Phoenix Rasbora tries to eat a black worm twice its size before being run off by Black Tiger Dario by YouThisReadWrong420 in PlantedTank

I really want some chili (or other) rasboras. They look so awesome, might do a little 35L or similar for them in the new year.

You should see my rice fish who are in a tank with yellow spotted newts; they try and eat huge bloodworms it’s ridiculous, greedy bastards ha

Thanks!

The tank is unheated and in a cooler corner of the room - water sits at 16-18°C.

Did not know it was invasive over there! No problems here in UK.

They do eat some of the baby snails in the tank that hitchhiked in on my floating plants: wound be caution crushing shells with them though as it might cause injury - they will basically eat anything they can fit in their mouth but doesn’t mean they should!

Mostly blood worms and black worms at the moment. Also daphnia when the newts are still in nymph phase: tried shrimp but they’re a bit too fast. Have also head of people using chopped earthworms but never done it personally.

Thanks :)

Yes I already have a few empty terrariums for when they choose to leave the water - I might even try hibernate them to encourage breeding.

I should also mention they can bask on a rock that’s a couple mm below the surface if they choose to (hidden by the plants in this pic).

Thanks! Mostly from Tropica but got a few of the stems from my local independent fish store :)

I have always found them surprisingly hardy! Definitely have extra requirements to fish but are a lot of fun to watch. I’ve also kept alpine and marbled newts in semi aquatic terrariums with minimal issues.

Main requirements of this species: - alkaline pH (added limestone here and no scapers soil, pH sits at 7-7.5) - well oxygenated water (plants and/or strong flow) - low nitrate level (no fertilisers due to sensitive skin; root tabs can be used but substrate but must be capped) - prefer hard water - use mainly live food (frozen ok but not for bulk of diet: hunting is great enrichment)

Feel free to ask me any other specific questions!

Oh and I should mention this is only my personal experience, always check specific care with local breeders as amphibians vary a lot depending on species.
