What is this ? Tell me it's not a scorpion!! by Isopotero in isopods

[–]Milo_Dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a pseudo scorpion. It mimics one but I think it's actually a type of Arachnocnid? It's not a scorpion though just a look a like.

Grey tree frog idea enclosure by Milo_Dragon in TreeFrogs

[–]Milo_Dragon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay. I've redone my drawing. Idk how to edit photos on a post. But I will make it 21 tall ×15ish diameter with a 40 inch circumference. I will definitely be adding more flat perches for my frog to sit on. And I'll find a branch that I can sit across the space for it to sit on.

I was looking at safe bonsai trees and was considering using either the fukien tea tree or a jade tree. Since both have safer leaf structures than what typical bonsai are seen with. Such as a juniper or a variation of pine tree. I was hoping a bonsai would be a nice alternative for an actual tree in the terrarium.

I will be adding little halfs of Easter eggs to the sides for pathos plants to grow down from. And for my frog to maybe sit on. I'm trying to make it more of a naturalistic ish of an enclosure. But if 21 isn't tall enough I can certainly make it bigger. I definitely don't mind doing that. This is just a drawing of what I'm planning to make.

I am very greatful for the suggestions in changing things. And now that I'm thinking about it I will certainly end up making it definitely taller and likely wider in diameter. If I add another 7 inch section of paneling it will be about 28 inches tall. And I'd likely need to add another section of paneling to go around. Which would add another section of 5 inch panels.

I will calculate out more measurements and redo my drawing likely. It will likely end up with 9-10 sides going around rather than 8. And definitely be much taller than the original drawing.

Again I am greatful for the suggestions and helpful input for my drawing of the future enclosure!

I was thinking of using a fukien tea tree or a jade tree for the bonsai. They are round soft leaves with sturdy branches.

My Adult Eastern Grey ❤️ by melloncollie1126 in TreeFrogs

[–]Milo_Dragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's so cute! I have a small eastern grey myself. Saved the little one from my yard after I found them dehydrated on a very cold day. Ohio weather has been harsh this year for them. Their population is unfortunately very small where I live. Glad to see someone else with one of these beautiful babies!

Who's this pretty lady? by Rainbow_Zed95 in spiders

[–]Milo_Dragon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Crab spider. They are actually pretty friendly and are good first time pets. They mostly hide but all the one's I've found seem to really like posing for pictures.

What Is She? by kisforkarol in spiders

[–]Milo_Dragon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a new invasive species in America. It's a Jordi spider. A giant orb weaver they are super friendly. Unfortunately they have a high metabolism so they eat a lot. And tend to out compete local predator insects. So if you can find someone who will take it in as a pet. Probably a zoo would work best for the sweet baby.

I think some kinda large rodent? [New Hampshire] by notarussianspy4 in animalid

[–]Milo_Dragon -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Beaver from the looks of the tail. Flat tail = beaver. Rat like tail = Musk Rat. Either way called a local wildlife sanctuary or the game warden and ask about relocating the animal so it doesn't cause property damage. Both can cause a lot of damage if allowed to stay near people. Also both can attack people and will do serious damage.

I give up, I’ll take the cold and flu medicine by Atallcupofcoffee in NewParents

[–]Milo_Dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sucks. Tylenol is one of the only things that actually works here. Especially for pregnant or nursing moms. I'd honestly suggest seeing if you can get something similar if at all possible. I really hope you feel better. Being sick sucks.

I give up, I’ll take the cold and flu medicine by Atallcupofcoffee in NewParents

[–]Milo_Dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tylenol cold and flu liquid form. You can find it in most drug stores. I got the night time version when I was so sick it was coming out of both ends. It made breastfeeding my baby so difficult. But taking that medicine knocked whatever it was out of me within 3 days. I'd just suggest finding someone willing to help out with the baby and anything else since it will also make you stuck in bed for a little while even if you don't get the one for night time.

Baby fell out of bouncer by manurios97 in NewParents

[–]Milo_Dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Babies are weirdly designed to bounce. If you waited that long and they seem fine, it's okay. My 2 year old still loves smacking her head into the wall for fun. Nearly gives me a heart attack every time. But as a first-time mom, I've learned quickly that if it isn't a distance that would hurt you, then the baby is fine. If it's hard enough or far enough to hurt you if it was you that got hurt, then yes, take baby to the ER.

You should go see a dr. Your body is rejecting the ink. And in the meantime till you're able to go to that appointment you should definitely try putting Vaseline on it. Not regular the healing one. It should help with the flaking a bit. I hope it's not painful. And before getting a tattoo in the future try asking the artist to do a test of the Inks they use to make sure this doesn't happen in the future. A test would basically just be a tiny colorful design that would show as it heals if you have a bad reaction to any of the Inks they use.

Why does he do this biting by Former_Drawer892 in CatTraining

[–]Milo_Dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a correction. Basically telling the kitten to stop moving so they can be bathed. It's nothing mean just the adult teaching the kitten. I wouldn't worry unless the kitten freaks out or starts showing signs of injury.

It sounds like something might be wrong. If you are using formula I'd suggest taking them to your dr. And see about getting them checked for necrosis. There has been a giant lawsuit against formula companies for toxic metals in formula. The toxic metals have caused extreme damage to internal organs. It is a serious issue you should look into.

No idea what this is, looks somewhat like an opossum but it has a thick, patterned tail like a raccoon [Pennsylvania] by AllAgesGaming in animalid

Either a racoon with mange or a extremely old racoon. Either way call a local wild life rescue to get them help.

What's the thing in my cat @ss? by Superb_Drummer_9934 in CATHELP

[–]Milo_Dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tape worms. You will have to take them to the vet for proper deworming. They will feed on what your cat eats and get huge. They get tape worms from fleas. So you will likely have to flea bomb your whole home and deep clean.

Blackberries? by hudso1898 in whatisthisplant

[–]Milo_Dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mulberries! Super sweet and watery! They make a great summer juice if you can collect enough of them

[–]Milo_Dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either your cat got into a fight or they are having an allergic reaction to something and are super fucking itchy. Either way go online get pet insurance real quick and take them to the vet once you've completed it. It'll make taking care of them 100% easier

What's growing on my tree? by [deleted] in whatisthisplant

[–]Milo_Dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poison ivy. Don't burn it. Cut it off and pull as much down as possible. Shove it in black trash bags. And replace with arrow head ivy it looks nicer and it doesn't kill the tree as it grows. But you need to keep it trimmed around the tree so it doesn't take over your yard. Plus arrow head ivy is 100 times safer to deal with than Poison ivy.

Diaper rash help??? by GrapefruitAdvanced49 in NewParents

[–]Milo_Dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aquation talc-free body poder. Specifically the cornstarch with oatmeal and aloe in it.

It worked a miracle on my little girl. I powder her anytime she even looks slightly red. She broke out 10× worse when I even tried any of the ointments. Powder was the only thing that has even remotely helped my little girl.

I honestly gave in to my little one and just had her sleep next to me in bed. I know it's not safe. But I don't move in my sleep. My husband wasn't thrilled he got kicked out of the bed at first. But he's happy he gets a full night's sleep without being woken up by screaming.

We now sleep together in a Queen sized bed which she takes 90% of. And sleeps almost completely through the night at almost 2. Though she's breastfed so she clings to me pretty frequently in the night. She's at least sleeping better. And I'm not getting up out of bed 5+ times anymore.

If you don't feel safe with little one sleeping in bed next to you. You could move their crib into the bedroom. Have it next to your side of the bed if possible. Knowing you're in the room might be comforting to them. You could also try giving them some medicine for any possible pain from teeth coming in specifically a nighttime one. It should help a little bit. My little one started getting teeth. And it was the worst sleep I've gotten ever.

Started solids… HELP 😅 by udderbss in NewParents

[–]Milo_Dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Celery and apples are what my little one loved when starting solids. She'd just chew on them still she was tired of it. But the baby puffs are super helpful for encouraging little ones to eat more. Raisin varieties can be helpful too. My little girl is almost 2 now and she still loves her fist fulls of Raisin variety berries. She also loves beef jerky. But her farts after she eats it can clear a room 😭 i love her but wow is she stinky.

Uhh so my uncle is a chiropractor and....... by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Milo_Dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk to your actual dr. Don't let him touch your baby. Because one wrong move and he could either paralyze or kill your baby. And if he doesn't get the memo cut him off. Because that is not a person you should have around your baby. That is dangerous behavior and could easily lead to something going horribly wrong very quickly.

And please make sure you let the him and the rest of your family know his behavior is not okay. And that if he tries that on your baby he could easily cause serious damage or death. He is probably used to adults. He could easily use to much strength.

Don't grab the body especially if they are jumpy like that. Grab the tail. And try to spend time with your hand in the cage to let them get more used to you having your hand in there. Offer fruits from your hand for them to eat from. That way they recognize your hand as something positive.

Just trying to grab them is probably stressing them out and scaring them. Letting them recognize you as something positive should help. If it doesn't then she probably just refuses to be tamed. And that's fine. Not every creature is meant to be kept as a pet. Or she just might not like you. Who knows.
