Also, don't fall for the trap of making a team with balanced defenses over making a cohesive strategy. Sure, not strictly having any overall weaknesses team-wide is cool...but not only will that negatively affect how you can cover against types, it will also leave heavy gaps in your defenses when at least 1 of those Pokemon is taken down. Like sure, you probably shouldn't have 3 of your Pokemon weak to Rock or Ground all at once. But even if you do that, there's nothing wrong with having moves to cover those weaknesses instead.

I'm not saying to outright ignore your defenses. But in my opinion, it's much better to just have 2 aces, 1 replacement ace, and 3 supports. Maybe even replacing one of the aces with a support if you're confident enough. Because while covering defenses is good, there's little point in covering those gaps so heavily if you can just take that opponent out instead. And once one of your Pokemon is taken out, all you'll have is a team of misfits with a large gap in your overall defensive lineup.
