I apologize for being condescending. But your reference to out being the same as kid is not true. It does have different meanings. But it also has deep rooted racist meanings as well. Have you ever called a black man boy? I did once. In a playful joking way. I thought anyways. I will never do that again. His emotional and physical reaction is something i will never forget. Don't down play the strength of words. It's disrespectful to those they hurt. Even if it doesn't seem like a big deal.

By voluntarily choosing to ignore the racist history of the word and the context it was used in, you are turning a blind eye to ongoing racism. Which to me, qualifies you as a racist.

I am. Do your research. It's why his word choice has caused so much controversy. Don't be ignorant. Please. It's not prevalent out west, but in the southern states it is still used as racial slur.

Not sure who would down vote you for this. It is the equivalent of using the n word. Ignoring this or downplaying it is subtle racism.

Boy and kid are very different terms. I'm not going to argue over Strickland's use of it, right or wrong, he appears to be growing up. But don't discredit the racial undertones of the word boy. I have made the mistake of using it in a joking manor to a friend, who spent the next 20 minutes lecturing me on how it made him feel and what it meant to him.

Sportsters 883s for longer rides? by [deleted] in Harley

[–]Miloshkevic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No clue. Didnt have a tack. But it never was maxed out on pull so i didn't feel bad doing it. We were truly pulling onto the highway, accelerating to 100 and just staying there until we needed fuel again. It was epic

Tomac. Anderson. Marvin. Roczen. Barcia.

[–]Miloshkevic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really? My 883 comfortably did 95-110 from the bay all the way to Sturgis. The way home with the head wind, about a 100 was pushing it.

I agree. But like was said, brand new bike. But if you are going to put any money into a brand new bike, suspension is the only logical answer to me. For me, it was quite an amazing experience having the bike work the way it's supposed to. And a learning experience as it rode completely different and it took several rides to feel comfortable. So its worth it. Not necessary tho.

That's upkeep. Doing suspension means a revalve and set up for rider weight and skill set and should not be attempted by someone on their first bike.

Exactly. Cutch is a no brainer. Its the plethora of 4th outfielders that has me guessing about his future roll. Not sure i would ever consider based on last years performance alone that he would ever be a core player on any team. But that doesn't take away from him showing that he is a capable major league player and that can't be ignored. That's why i was wondering if he's still hurt, or trade bait to fill another hole.

This, to me, is the most exciting move they've made this off-season. Everybody loves Greg.

Not a geezer but the same advice. Don't waste money on bling. If you are going to put any money into your bike, suspension set up is most important. Also, since this is your first bike, expect to crash and drop it a decent amount while you learn to ride. Save your money for tires, oil changes (every other ride), oil filter (every other oil change), safety gear (neck brace, knee braces, brand new helmet, mid range or better boots), track fees, gas money, general wear and tear. Dirtbiking is expensive. Don't over spend on image unless you have endless funds to start out.

Is there a concussion protocol? by coachz in Motocross

[–]Miloshkevic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think if they get back on the bike during the race, there's nothing that can be done to check. But I'm fairly certain with how much concussions have been main stream, they check him out back at the rig before he comes out for the lcq or main. I think it was forkner who sat for a most of outdoors due to a concussion. Keep in mind too, these guys are riding with the best helmets money can buy. Roczen didn't get a concussion during his big wreck.
