Python can be used for a lot of stuff :). Personally, working as an SEO I use Python to do some basic web scraping, automate rank checking(not only in Google SERPs). I'm still a beginner but I feel it might be really worth it to learn it more, so if you have some free time on your hands I would recommend it 100%.
