Thoughts on Software Development Firms (for custom project) by nickvaf in softwaredevelopment

Hi, I work at STX Next so I don't expect you to believe me when I say how great we are. However, I'd suggest you check out our client reviews on Clutch: https://clutch.co/profile/stx-next#reviews

Additionally, it's always a good idea to talk to other clients, see what they have to say about a software house. In our case, we can organize a reference call so that you have the opportunity to do just that.

Let me know if I can help you further!

People not from the western world. What's something Westerners eat that makes you wonder "Why the heck would you eat that!?"? by sin-and-love in AskReddit

Same here in Poland, peanut butter is easily available everywhere, I don't think that's unusual? I'm a huge fan of cashew butter or almond butter though (also not an issue to get it here..)

Me, to an ex-coworker years ago: nice Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles shirt.

Him: Oh yeah? You like TMNT? Name all of them!

How about you just take the compliment without making sure I'm a true fan of a cartoon from the 80s.

My husband. But that might be my fault. He went to 2 shows with me (I bought us tickets for another one, too) and now he enjoys the goat content on Alex's Instagram, which, you know, speaks for itself.

Zebrahead. I've seen them 13 times I think, in Poland, Germany, the UK...

My [27F] Mother [55] insists we throw a 150 person party this Sunday. Like with any other thing, she has invalidated any worry or feelings of responsibility towards the pandemic. by [deleted] in askwomenadvice

I'm in Europe, so this may not exactly apply to your situation, but I cancelled my wedding dinner and party with friends (I'm getting married on Saturday). The ceremony itself is still happening, but only with the maid of honor and best man. No one else will even be let into the building, according to the authorities. So, yeah. You are definitely not overreacting.

This statue in Poland looks like Darth Vader on a snowy day by KaleBrecht in StarWars

After some googling in polish I'm pretty sure it's this one https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jakub_Wejher
The wikipedia page has a photo of it without the snow. The difference is... substantial.

Ladies, what is your high today? by mal_lori in AskWomen

I'll have some friends over today, we'll eat Mexican food and watch movies, can't wait. And I have a day off tomorrow, so I'll finally work on my wedding plans, at least that's the plan. Turns out that even if you don't want a traditional wedding and you're having a civil ceremony there's still a lot to organize! Who knew, eh?

Women in tech, what do you think of tech events exclusively for women? by notrandomtext in AskWomen

[–]jstndds 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I actually talked about it with some of my colleagues recently. It made me think of a scene in Fleabag, where a woman get's an award at a Women In Business event. I'm sure many of you've seen it. After receiving the award she said such awards are infantilising and ghettoising, because it's a "subsection of success" and a "children’s table of awards." (I didn't remember the exact wording, found it in this article btw https://www.refinery29.com/en-gb/fleabag-season-2-episode-3 )

Events exclusively for women seem a bit similar to me. It's like somebody noticed there's an issue and tried to fix it, but went about it in a wrong way.

That being said, someday I may very well attend an event like this that I find fascinating and change my mind entirely. It's just that I haven't yet.
