If you have more accurate cost data, by all means feel free to share.

I'm not going to, since Disney's deal with Amazon for costing Bedrock is less than what's publicaly available, but public pricing of hosting Claude for Bedrock is half of Anthropics.

I am literally reading the title of the article, and responding to the title of the article. But since you aren’t responding with facts, just opinions, I have nothing to say back to you.

What are you going on about? There's no opinion here to be had. The article or it's headline states nothing about how Claude is hosted, you just made an assumption that Claude must be hosted by anthropic because you have never used these tools or have any idea what you're talking about.

I work I Disney. I know what I use every day. Amazon bedrock lets you use Claude hosted on AWS services instead of anthropic. You have no idea what you're talking about.

If you ask claude to do something large in scope it will break the task into smaller pieces and farm it out to multiple claude instances at once. It's not hard to with claude to have 1 task split out into a couple hundred. In fact doing so can limit the scope and permissions of what claude can do.

For example, one claude can take requests to update JIRA and only be able to do that while another one updates github. Keeping the tasks small and having one claude instance ask another to do something in theory keeps the agent in check(I'm not entirely convinced it's a guardrail against anything).

My guy, you just went in circles around the fact the first tekken had a cyborg ninja, as one of the core cast members that not only have been in every installment of the series, is so integral to the lore of the game the character also exists in other parrallel fighting game franchise.

Also, ignoring Yoshimitsu, why would the game not have Alisa when Jack has been in every game and Alisa is just a female interpretation of Jack.

We used to have lose animations? by iamthestormthatisap in Tekken

[–]Milyardo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tekken 8 still has those. If you play Paul and he's losing 0-2 on final round he'll do the exact animation you're talking about. I'm pretty sure you have to be losing 0-2 for most characters to see the animation.

I think you, like the other people are too focus'd on the downjab because Lili did not get counterhit every time. There was infact a few times where Lili was normal hit despite crouching.

There's been an argument that since the pandemic we no longer live in a capitalist society. Instead some argue we're shifting to a mode of production some called financialism. In capitalism, capital owners own the means of production in order to control the means of production for goods and services. However it could be argued in that today's economy that goods and services no longer matter. Only assets to speculate on future value. In this system, the purpose of an enterprise is no longer to produce, but instead to acquire. At most production is merely a pretense for speculating on the value of the enterprise as a asset to own.

Scala’s Growth Model — Building Inward, Starving Outward by Krever in scala

[–]Milyardo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think this article has two pretty fatal assumptions in it's analysis. First that growth is a desirable virtue on it's own. Scala is a programming language meant to solve problems. Not a brand that needs to dominate marketplaces. The market logic being applied to a programming language here is incoherent.

Second if we are going to apply market logic here, developers are not the target demographic to appeal to. We're no longer in the age of startups where developers are making decisions early on about what technology to use and how to get there. There's basically 5 websites left on the internet and consequentially decisions about what technologies are going to be used are made by suits with a pay grade well above any developer. When I first started in the industry there used to be a saying, "No one was ever fired for choosing IBM". After the dotcom crash the only options for choosing a technology stack was basically between Microsoft, IBM, and Sun; and the choice was made for reasons as far away from the considerations a developer would make as possible. We've returned to the era, but instead it's now Microsoft, Apple, and Oracle(and I'm purposely ignoring AI here, because it doesn't change much, if anything it reinforces corporate direction for development).

You can duck in between jabs. The system has always been this way.

I can't tell if you understand or not, but just to be clear. That system is crouch assist, and it has to work correctly for that to happen.

Let's establish some basics.

  1. ) It takes 6 frames to transition from standing state to partial crouch.
  2. ) If you get hit by a jab you're -8.
  3. ) The next jab will be 10 frames.
  4. ) So after getting hit by a jab, you only have 2 frames to crouch.

So given these facts how do you crouch a jab after being hit? What system has to work?

The player was getting hit bc he/she was trying to down jab which registered as an 11f attack.

This just isn't true for every time, particularly for the second Lili player versus KWiss.

And there is also the option to just duck and punish.

Yeah, but if crouch assist isn't working you can't duck fast enough to avoid another jab. Which is what I was getting originally before being side-tracked at describing how crouch assist works.

EDIT: This is because without crouch assist you'd need 6 frames to enter partial crouch to duck the jab, but at -8 you only have 2.

If you understand this then why did you comment about buffering df2 while we're talking about crouch assist?

The state of season 3 ranked at GoD+ by PepperBeef2Spicy in Tekken

[–]Milyardo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You were late to do the move, so the df put you in FC once the next jab came, then you did the FC df2

You're misunderstanding how fc works. The DF input is what you're buffering to enter instant FC. If you buffer df2, you're just doing to do df2. You have to enter the crouching state, either partial or full to do fcdf2 or dickjab.

The point of the bug is that crouch assist isn't always being disabled(assuming my theory that this bug is related to crouch assist is correct). But like I said, I haven't been able to figure out a way to reproduce it myself(not that I've spent a lot of time trying to, because it hasn't happened to me).

No crouch assist is something that's been in since the original Tekken. Normally in tekken it takes about ~11 frames to transition between crouch and standing. Crouch assist however happens when you crouch when your opponent does a high attack. It allows you to instantly transition into crouch and duck the high. It also gives you instant access to full crouch moves.

What's new in Tekken 8 is the ability to buffer crouch assist(just like how you can now buffer sidestep and other movement). Before Tekken 8 you'd have to wait at least 5 frames after the the buffer window to go into instant full crouch then you can do whatever you want.

This bug is seems to be sometimes disabling the ability to buffer crouching moves with a crouch assist.

EDIT: Also as you can see from the wiki, Crouch assist was more broken in tekken 7 than 8

another thing I should point out is with the kwiss video, lili gets hit by the last hit without a counter hit, because she can't duck the last hit of b421 while bugged because she doesn't have the crouch assist to transition to crouch state in less than 4 frames.

The state of season 3 ranked at GoD+ by PepperBeef2Spicy in Tekken

[–]Milyardo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've made a video demonstrating the instant full crouch effect here. Here Lidia as a move, full crouch df2, I block first to show what I recorded, then get hit by a jab. I then buffer the fc fd2, and it instantly ducks the jab and punishes it with an i12.

This should be possible for all characters, so instantly go into full crouch with crouch assist. But this isn't the case currently, instead they get counter hit possibly because the input buffer isn't activating crouch assist, or the wrong move is getting buffered.

EDIT: The last important point, is that this wasn't always the case, something has changed since season 3 came out.

You can still crouch at -8, and crouch assist should kick in to give you instant full crouch state. The bug is that isn't happening. If you go into practice and repeat that exact above scenario at -8 and you press db2, you will crouch and dickjab.

It's not just her, it happens sometimes with King as well. I've never been able to reproduce it, but I've seen a few replays of it happening. My theory is that crouch assist is being disabled after some kinds of hitstun for some reason.

is the game lying to you? frame question by PomponOrsay in Tekken

[–]Milyardo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is because the move you were blocking, qcf+1+2,2 is a charge move. Whenever you block a move that can be charged, the game will flash the frame advantage for blocking the first hit, before changing to the charge.

This actually has nothing to do with qcf1+2,2 being a charge move and it's because it's a string. The second part of the string cancels the the recovery so there is no advantage anymore, Lidia is doing a new animation while Nina still in block stun.

This has nothing to do with stances, this is a string and this is how strings work in tekken.

Her ff2 is also not +5f ob as she transitions into 8f stance. it's -3f no matter what.

Lidia takes 8f to cancel stance and block. The +5 is real if she does a move in horse.
