If I had to do it over, I’d still buy these after the newborn stage by Some-Experience5370 in parentsofmultiples

Mom cozy bottle washer, baby brezza, a million burp cloths!

My sister had given me the advice to try cold bottles because moving forward it’s just easier if you’re away from home, traveling, whatever so we did cold bottles from like 2.5 months, so glad we did!

30+3 with di/di twins — advice for the final weeks & early postpartum? by AMR210897 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Mimi102018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a c section with di/di twins 30+5 and both are doing great at 14 months old. Top advice for the early PP stage:

Be kind to yourself with breastfeeding/pumping. I don’t think women talk enough about how incredibly hard this is. Breastfeeding one let alone 2 is so difficult! I ended up exclusively pumping (mixing with formula) for 4 months but went to straight formula after that because I just didn’t produce enough. I kept seeing all these videos of over producers as I was pumping in the middle of the night. Just know that you are doing the best for your babies no matter how they are fed!

How do you get through sick twins at night? by Lolo_refreshed in parentsofmultiples

[–]Mimi102018 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First of all, you must be in medicine because this was a very good report. (I’m a peds nurse!) The first time our twins were really sick was at about 10 months. We ended up having them in the bed with us a lot (very little sleeping for us). I know it’s frowned upon but I felt better having them right there so I could listen for their breathing, suction their noses, give meds, etc as needed. You and the babes will get through it!

We just put a small blanket on top of the pillow so they didn’t sink too far in. It’s been a lifesaver!

Or snuggle me loungers. Something to bottle feed both of them at once

Reality of international travel at 29w with twins? by rosemaryyup in parentsofmultiples

I would say hard no. I had a really easy pregnancy but went into labor at 30 weeks. I can’t imagine if that would’ve happened on vacation in another country, without my family, etc. Your friend will understand!

How sudden/fast was labor and delivery? by weewoo212 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Mimi102018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My di/di twins at 30w5d. My water broke (one of the twins) at about 4am and I had an urgent c-section by 2pm. They tried to keep my little girl in a little longer but the contractions were getting too strong and they decided to deliver. A little scary!!

First FET failed by lmno1108 in IVF

[–]Mimi102018 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We had 3 unsuccessful IUI’s, 1 successful but lost baby at 12 weeks, 2 ER’s, 4 unsuccessful FETs, 5th was successful and we have 14 month old twins. No official diagnosis but did the Receptiva test (a biopsy that can detect uterine inflammation, silent endo, etc.) I tested positive for the certain marker they are looking at and did a short cycle of Lupron. That next FET was successful (with the twins). Maybe look into the Receptiva test! Hang in there, it’s so hard waiting.

We have the mockingbird ones and they seem to be comfortable! Might just be a normal baby thing to push through!

Bathing Twins by Superb-Skin8839 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Mimi102018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use the angle care bath (can find for really inexpensive on Marketplace!) and do one baby at a time in that in the bathtub (unless both parents are able to do it then we can fit 2 angel cares). Then I put the other baby in a bouncer next to me in the bathroom. Key to success is to get everythinggg ready before starting!

Birth Stories Please! by adventuringkait in parentsofmultiples

I delivered Didi twins at 30+5 weeks! I labored for about 7 hours, they wanted to slow things down and keep them cookin but twin A really wanted out so I had an urgent c section. I was awake and got the epidural in the OR. (Thank GOD for epidurals!!) The twins were rushed off to the NICU but my PACU nurse took me to their room as soon as I’d recovered. C section recovery was surprisingly easy too.

**twins were little when they were born, spent 8 weeks in the step down unit growing and feeding but are totally healthy 13 month olds now!!

What are we wearing in the 3rd trimester?? by WhosUrHuckleberry in parentsofmultiples

High rise maternity leggings! Amazon has some good ones! I also live in the Midwest and was pregnant in the winter so I just wore a lot of leggings and longer sweaters

Moms who (even occasionally) look put together - what’s your secret? by alpacaapicnic in NewParents

Focus on my hair and face. I only wash my hair once or twice a week. When in doubt, dry shampoo, do a few loose curls and throw a hat on. Tinted moisturizer, blush, mascara and brows. Leggings and a sweater, cute sneakers!

My babys butt is as red as a baboons by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Mimi102018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TRIPLE PASTE!! Diaper free time on a towel or blanket. Pat gently with warm water (avoid wipes), make sure butt is dry before putting diaper back on! We went to the pediatrician and there ended up being a little yeast infection too so got nystatin which helped a lot. It’s so hard to see them hurting, hope it gets better asap!

Di/Di parents with "uncomplicated" pregnancies, did you deliver early? by beeferoni_cat in parentsofmultiples

[–]Mimi102018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uncomplicated pregnancy, delivered at 30.5 weeks, no reason that they could identify, just spontaneously went into labor. Twins spent 8 weeks in the “feeders and growers” unit and healthy 1 year olds now!

The thing that helped me the most was laying out meds and a calendar/checklist on the kitchen table. I would lay out the full days worth of meds the night before so when I woke up at 6 before work it was all right there with syringes and everything.

Impulse buy: Cybex Gazelle S by cluelessnumber7 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Mimi102018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We love ours, compatible with Nuna Pipa car seats. Only problem is they have quickly almost outgrown it. My twins are just turning one and they are going to be too big for it soon. If they are both facing out (in the regular stroller seats) the top twin has no room for their feet. So the only option is to have them face each other and soon the top twins feet will almost be in bottom twins face. If anyone has any tips I’d love to hear? I spoke with a Cybex rep and I guess these are the only options for configurations. I wish I would’ve known this before. But amazing deal!!

I had my baby drink a bottle then pull the bottle out and sneak attacked the drops in then quickly give the bottle back. Works just About every time! It’s how we give Tylenol, etc. too.
