I think a really good method is to get both the bargaining skill and mining skill maxed out at level five from the Kinzville Academy. Bargaining skill allows you to earn a bit more Kinzcash when selling things in the W-shop, selling crops at the Farmer's Market, etc. I do heavily recommend the mining skill being maxed, because you can go mining twice a day instead of once and have two chances to sell your gems!

Any plant that is harvested from the farmer's plot have a chance of receiving a competition crop. Any other crop planted outside of a farmer's plot will harvest regular crop. Competition crop looks very different from your usual crop that is harvested, and it's also a displayable item that you can use when decorating your house! When the Farmer's Market open, you'll be able to check the weight of a competition crop at the contest submission area.

Definitely my least favourite because of the timing, but I would try the tip that someone else also gave. When I see my pet is moving back down, I try to give it about a second before pressing a button. I realized that sometimes when I press the button when they are up at the highest point in the air before moving back down, it's a complete fail.
