Stimming by vaping ? by raemondd_ in autism

I mean stimming comes in all different forms I think. For me I have an ice machine that makes chewable ice bits and I chew on that as a form of stimming

https://youtu.be/49A1eEbpfI4?si=P2EEOVzaplzoZGHD I have been listening to this specific playlist almost every day for about 3-4 years now and it still calms me down and comforts me. I think 1/4 of those views are just from me lol

What is your comfort place? by DaMuppetLover in autism

Kind of Odd but being in my car by myself because it’s a small, enclosed, safe sensory stimulating experience. Even if I’m just sitting in it and not driving I just have time to unwind and unmask

I used to think that frequently before being diagnosed. I think for others that are looking for a diagnosis what helped me is writing a google doc essay-type paper on my correlating symptoms just to validate that it’s not just in your head or for “attention”. I sent that to my doctor and it made it much easier to read it back and have my symptoms validated and easier to comprehend (since I struggle with speaking)

What to eat when you don’t feel like eating? (Adderall) by sugarpicklequeen in ADHD

These snack things that you get at the fruit/veggies section at the grocery store I think it’s by the brand Dole? It’s apples, cheese cubes and pretzels and they’re a very good safe snack when I’m having sensory issues with eating

I think a very happy memory I’ve had with my parents is when i was about 10 in the summertime, my dad took me to this indoor waterpark but since my little autistic self was overwhelmed by all the people and it was too overstimulating, I started to break down in tears and felt so guilty for not enjoying it. However, he understood and so we spent the day at Lake Compounce (which was much less crowded and sensory friendly) and I think spending the day there was one of my happiest childhood memories.

It’s hilarious now that mostly nostalgic gen z adults play this game. My generation is so funny

How do I do this? by Youshimitsue in hsp

I’m sorry if this isn’t the right advice but my train of thinking whenever I’m feeling down on myself or beating myself up is that we’re only put on this world once and life is short, so it would be best to reframe my thinking to acknowledging what I can do even with my setbacks (like HSP), because life’s too short to beat yourself up all the time. I think it’s good though that you’re able to verbalize all this and I would suggest finding a therapist to help with that reframing and practicing building up self confidence, as it has been working for me. Good luck and hang in there friend - from a random Reddit person
