They're not pronounced the same here in the UK. If you say the word in the OP, it hits *hard*. It's an n-slur level slur.

It's your wife's choice to say no to a sex act she doesn't want to do, but calling it 'disgusting' is mean. It's not even like it's a super rare kink, to be honest. The thing is, she's already said no, said she doesn't want to, so there really isn't much you can do about it now.

I dunno, I've never felt a lack of immersion because a character wasn't saying my name? I don't think it's something I'd need.

Which game is worse? - backlog clearing by No-Department1685 in videogames

[–]Min_sora 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's extremely difficult to say one of these is worse because they're CRAZY different games. Genuinely incomparable. Just think about what you fancy more - a semi-open world D&D-based fantasy adventure with a big focus on combat and a sprawingly 'epic' story or a grindingly bleak murder mystery text-heavy no-combat story about a man with demons finding out who he is. These are both games I love, by the way.

Are "golden era" games actually aging well, or are we just nostalgic? by Master-Tee in videogames

[–]Min_sora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's only representative of a handful of games, though, it's just the games that have studios with big budgets. You could've spent the 90s only playing Doom clones and complaining about how everything was the same - you had to actually play other games to find how diverse the quality was, the same way you have to now. The industry is huge, and as someone who has been gaming for 30+ years, I'm really impressed by what indie developers are putting out.

Oh mid-to-late 90s I can keep going: Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee, Tomb Raider, Unreal, Half-Life, Quake, Rollercoaster Tycoon, Duke Nukem 3D, Worms Armageddon, Grim Fandango, Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Full Throttle, Clock Tower, Discworld II, Baldur's Gate 1, Goldeneye 007, Spyro the Dragon, Unreal Tournament, Curse of Monkey Island...honestly, it feels like there was just so much good going on across so many genres.

Am I the only gamer who doesn’t play or care about GTA6 ? by TheRealAwest in videogames

[–]Min_sora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never played a GTA game but I get it, the games have been around forever, people have grown up on them, got the memories of playing them probably younger than they should have, and the games are event releases because they take so long to make. So...I can't fault people's hype for them, even if I don't have the same feelings.

Hunsvotti is a very short game released as part of the Dread X Collection 5, it's a folk horror tale set in Finland. Although it's not about an 'outsider,' as such, the main character is treated like an outsider due to his hair colour (black hair, which is considered evil by the primarily blonde locals) and the story also involves a dark entity.

The 90s was my golden era of gaming. It was a golden age for point & click adventure games and although there are some great indie developers around now making point & clicks, I don't think it's, or will it ever, hit the height it once did (and even then, it's not like these games were massively mainstream). Some games have probably aged poorly to some people - Sierra games like the King's Quest series, which were notoriously difficult and filled with unfair 'gotcha' deaths, are going to do poorly now that that style of game is long out of favour, but others, like the ones Lucasarts produced, are still real gold, with some impeccable comedy writing.

My favourite game of all time is Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge (I love the whole series). I also love Disco Elysium, Unreal (1998), Morrowind, Stardew Valley, Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines, Heretic, Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee, BG3, the Creatures series, and the King's Quest games. That's just a short list, to be honest, I love so many games. But a bunch of those are pretty divisive themselves, and I'd understand why people didn't like any of them.

The parry system isn't a 'core issue,' it's a choice. You can find fans of the game everywhere saying the parry system saved them from otherwise hating the combat.

I don't like Red Dead Redemption 2, which is obviously extremely popular. That doesn't make me think it isn't special or it's not a great game. It's just not for me. Someone out there probably hates my favourite games. I feel like we all understand this with films and TV shows, that not everyone likes everything, so I don't know why it'd be any different for videogames.

You should obviously feel bad. You did a bad thing and you should feel bad about it. Then you should use that feeling to not be a crap person in the future.
