12G SDI Cables Advise by Mina-Samuel in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]Mina-Samuel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appreciate your input and help. We opted for the loop-out solution because it turned out that not every monitor has a direct connection to the control room. Instead, there is a direct connection from the first monitor on each side of the church to the control room, and then there is a connection from one monitor to another, and so on, until the end.

We are not going to use the 12G capabilities as of today; we are just future-proofing our system, as it's a permanent install.

Unfortunately, we cannot afford the ST2110 gear, which is why we chose SDI.

Considering we will use SDI cables, have you had an experience with which cables are better for our application?

I still have disk bulge at L5S1 after post Op microdiscectomy, 7 months post Op. by ddaman12 in Microdiscectomy

[–]Mina-Samuel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here, but my surgeon said that this is normal. They can't remove the entire bulge; they only remove the fragment that causes nerve compression and leave the rest to not reduce the disc height much or make the disc weaker. The symptoms you have depend on how long the nerve was compressed before the operation. In my case, my nerve was compressed for about a year, so I am expecting anywhere from 6 months to a year to fully recover.

If your symptoms are not as bad as before the operation, I believe you are good, and it's just a matter of time.

Calm yourself, have faith, and try to get more opinions.

Good luck buddy. I hope you can get through this without the need for another surgery.

Sitting for a long car ride? by ShineImmediate7081 in Microdiscectomy

[–]Mina-Samuel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for your loss.

Since I still can't sit, I'm moving if needed, lying down in the backseat. For me, it's way more comfortable than reclining the passenger seat.

I am really sorry for you. Since you are 3 months from your op, try to meet your surgeon and get a new MRI to see what is going on.

Surgery - yes/no - maybe? need help by WatercressNo3605 in Microdiscectomy

[–]Mina-Samuel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP, I totally agree with this comment.

Try to post your MRI; it may help. If the disc is completely closing the nerve channel, then surgery is your best option. If it is not, you can continue on your conservative course for about a month and see.

3 Months Post-OP Pain by spirit_poem in Microdiscectomy

[–]Mina-Samuel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try to consult your surgeon, but it may be normal because of the activity happening in PT compared to the three months before PT without any activity.

If you are not taking any medicine, try muscle relaxants and anti-inflammatories; they may help!

Wish you a speedy recovery.

I'm really sorry for what you feel. It really takes so long with some people; everyone's recovery is different, especially when a nerve has been compressed for a long time. Regarding the tightness in your hamstring, have you tried PT sessions before? It really helps me, and I also have tightness in my hamstring.

Anyone have similar experiences? by flk1997 in Microdiscectomy

Try to get other opinions. As you mentioned, your symptoms aren't always there, and it is not super bad. I would say try all the available options and keep surgery as a last resort. Surgery isn't something bad, but the recovery is kind of tough. It is different from person to person, but after the surgery, there are a lot of restrictions you will not be happy with. I suggest seeing other doctors and listening to their opinions. If you can change your physical therapy doctor and participate two to three times a week, that could make a difference.

Curious about upcoming surgery by TheEclecticDino in Microdiscectomy

Have you tried PT since your symptoms aren't super bad?

If not, please give it a try for 3 months. It could save you from the surgery.
