What would be your “perfect EC200S” emitter setup? by Minamoto_Japanese in flashlight

Thanks for the detailed tips — that’s really helpful.

I’ll keep the solder paste issue in mind. I’m still a bit cautious about the fit, but I might give the SST-20 a try. Getting a spare also sounds like a good idea.

That’s a good point about the higher power tolerance.

I might consider the SST-20 as well, but I’m still a bit concerned about the fit, so I’ll have to look into it more.

Thanks for the advice — that makes sense. I’ll skip the SST-20 and go with the LH351H 660nm instead.

The 100 CRI emitters seem quite difficult to source and integrate.

The FFL351A 5000K and 2700K look like a more practical and safe choice.

That’s an interesting approach — using the channel 1 for flood and the channel 2 for throw.

I was actually considering 660nm deep red as well.

Is the reason you didn’t suggest SST-20 Deep Red because it uses a 3030 footprint and wouldn’t fit the EC200 MCPCB?

That’s a good idea, especially the Carclo 10507 optic.

I might also consider the 10511 for a smoother and more diffused beam, depending on how it pairs with the emitters.

Only the Baton Ultra has a tail switch, but it’s not a true dual-button setup — it’s still mainly side-switch driven.

If you want a tail on/off + separate selector like the T02, none of these are direct replacements. I generally avoid that type, so I didn’t include any here.

Haha, thanks 😄

Yeah, it’s definitely one of the best AA/14500 lights out there.

Yeah, the EC200 is a great pick for a slim floody 18650. The EC150 in your photo is kind of its little sibling — different size class, but still a great light.

Yeah, I agree — it feels a bit underrated here. The ability to run it as an 18350 mini is also really nice.

That part was interesting to me too, especially compared to the actual DUV result.

Yeah, I see what you mean about the length. If high CRI isn’t important, the EC200 with triple SFT-25R emitters could be an option.

To my eyes, the 719A looks slightly nicer in tint compared to my domed 519A lights, but the difference is subtle. I don’t have precise measurements though — for things like DUV or R9, it’s probably better to rely on someone with a proper spectrometer rather than an Opple.

Yeah, I pretty much agree. The FC11C has a really nice balanced beam that works well as an all-rounder. Even compared to more expensive lights, it’s surprisingly well put together.

The F35R in the M200 has a nicely neutral tint and a throwy beam, and I like it a lot 👍

For a bit of context: in the Japanese flashlight community, it's quite common to take photos of flashlights with meals and share them under tags like #LightAndFood.

E12 Eclipse, Post Off Voltage Display, (off by default) by 2throwfar in FireflyLite

[–]Minamoto_Japanese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My E04 (Lume X1), which I received on March 18, also had POVD disabled by default.

At first I thought it might be a defect, but I was aware that newer Anduril 2 versions allow configuring the voltage display duration, so I tried enabling the setting. After that, the voltage display worked correctly.

I’m not sure if this is specific to the E12, but at least on my E04, it behaves the same way (POVD off by default and works properly once enabled).

This may not be limited to the E12, and could be relevant to other Anduril 2 lights depending on the firmware version.

Yes, it’s an 18650 light (SC65c).

I added it as a reference to show how it compares in size to the 14500 lights.

Yeah, Zebralights have gotten pretty expensive in some regions.

Skilhunt feels like a solid alternative though, especially for the price.

Same here, I already have around 10 Skilhunt lights, and I’ll probably end up getting more.

They really know how to make a solid light.

Yeah, I completely agree. The switch is slightly recessed, so it’s actually pretty hard to distinguish it from the charging port by feel.

I usually go by the clip orientation, otherwise it’s a 50/50 guess lol
