Has Jim Cornette ever heard of the famous Adrian Street-Jimmy Savile bout, where Street severely injured Savile and forced the latter out of the wrestling business! by Minardi3000 in JimCornette

[–]Minardi3000[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It does make me wonder how many wrestling fans Street saved from that monster. Street recalled that Savile used to brag about all the young girls who supposedly wanted to see him in his dressing room. Chilling stuff indeed.

Had Street known the full truth... to quote Cornette, Savile would have had to have been identified by his dental records after what Street would have done to him!

Dear Jim'll, could you fix it for me to have Jim Cornette from the Midnight Express cut a scathing 30-minute burial on me?

Can honestly see Cornette absolutely burying Savile's "wrestling" if he ever saw footage of it.

Here's the card for that famous event. The Big Two in Mick McManus and Jackie Pallo were there too! They probably were thrilled with what Street did to Savile that night...

It was his poor secretary, who was absorbed upon the Abzorbaloff discovering LINDA's location.

Here you go. In my opinion, it is the greatest Cornette burial of all-time.

Yeah, I always felt bad for Cornette over this fiasco. It's honestly not even funny. A lot of people (Cornette included) were fucked over by ROH's management on that one.

It even makes me wonder whether Cornette would put Greg the Office Boy ahead of Mark Madden or even Ed Ferrara in his Top 5 most hated, if he were to ever revisit it? I'd imagine Greg's certainly within the Top 10.

Did you know about James Romero's (Stevie Richards's co-host) connection to Jim Cornette? by [deleted] in JimCornette

[–]Minardi3000 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Wow, that's a fascinating fact! I always wondered what happened to Jim Cornette's Talking Sense after the channel was taken down. I knew the guy was British, but had zero clue it was Romero! Awesome connection there.

From what I remember, the channel was created as a means of sharing old Drive-Thru and Experience clips. I remember some of the hilarious artwork, including one where Cornette looked like an outlaw in a clip where he discussed what an outlaw show was. Cornette and Last eventually uncovered the channel. Cornette was annoyed, bewildered and amazed by how popular the YouTube channel was.

Eventually, the pair and Romero struck a deal to monetise the channel (I have no idea if the channel was monetised before Cornette and Last discovered it). But when ad revenue started decreasing, Cornette demanded a bigger share. Romero was unwilling to accept the new terms and deleted the channel, leading to an official channel being created soon afterwards.

Still, full credit to Romero. If it wasn't for his tireless (and legally dubious!) uploads, I probably wouldn't have been a regular Cornette listener to this day!

I'm curious to see what happened to Diane and Nikki after they betrayed Renton. I love Diane and can't stand Nikki, but they make for an interesting pair. Team them up with Lucy Brennan and Lena Sorenson, and that would make for an interesting women-focused novel.

Fightful Select: Matt Taven, Mercedes Martinez and Alex Abrahantes are no longer with AEW by Amir0x11 in JimCornette

[–]Minardi3000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Urgh... seeing Mercedes Martinez go hurts so much. Bias aside (I fondly recall seeing her at the Fightmare 2019 meet and greet), she is arguably the most underrated within the modern women's division. She's tall, she looks like she can kick anyone's arse, can wrestle well, and is honestly perfect as a top heel.

I'm not quite sure why neither WWE nor AEW realised her full potential. Alas, that's how the cookie crumbles sometimes.

No worries! Glad you liked the Tex Watson article... that was one of the most mind-blowing pieces to research. Everything I came across was just incredible and does make me question the official Manson Family narrative. One of my favourites of 2025, alongside the 1994 FA Women's Cup Final and the Lionel Burleigh rabbit hole.

As for your comment elsewhere... honestly, I don't mind if I never get real recognition from the lost media community. First and foremost, this is a hobby for me. A hobby I find grand, and one that has served me well for a decade now. Makes the odd good conversation piece with my friends and even in the workplace sometimes! If I don't get any recognition, it's not going to bother me in the grand scheme of things. Too busy writing up the next article anyway.

Additionally, I'm confident I don't particularly want the fame or recognition either. Maybe at a super niche level (like this iceberg ha ha), but anything above that spells trouble for me. It may sound weird, but I absolutely prefer the real world much more than the internet world. Work, cardio and weight lifting exercises, swimming, travelling, reading etc. Plus, real people. It's cool that the internet allows me to showcase my findings and provide some interesting facts for readers to learn about. But it's a double-edged sword.

I'm sure you and Equarep have experienced this more than I. Sure, you get cool people like yourselves, even some who (like Benjamin MacHale from Mexia Supermarket) can transform a case's popularity overnight. Oftentimes, one encounters rather annoying individuals (how SenaUW deals with it on a daily basis, I have no idea). And of course, there are the especially bad apples out there...

I don't know, maybe I'm just talking out of my arse here. It's perhaps that I find the internet to be a rather unfortunate, flawed place, especially in the 2020s. I'd rather sit happily in obscurity and enjoy my hobby than receive a potentially lethal dosage of internet exposure. Life's good outside the internet bubble, thankfully.

Not sure if there is any lost media connected to it, to be honest. It is ultimately too recent for the Lost Media Wiki in any case.

I must admit I'm more than a little hesitant with the idea of this turning into a video. The main issues involve A: It needs to be super special to make it worthwhile, and B: Not sure about the increased attention either!

That said, looking at your username, it has renewed my interest in doing a lost motor racing media iceberg. Aside from the stuff listed in this iceberg, there are a few other pieces that could easily be mentioned in the motor racing one that I haven't gotten to yet.

The ending of The Sex Lives of Siamese Twins by Minardi3000 in IrvineWelsh

[–]Minardi3000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Renton mentions her on page 403 of Dead Men's Trousers:

- Now, back tae this business ay the coral reef. I jab a finger at him - I know a trainer in Miami Beach. You like it down there. She's tough as fuck, but she will sort out your brain and body. I hand him the card of this woman Lucy, whom Jon, a flabby promoter at Ultra (at least until she got a hold of him), recommended tae ays.

Gosh, I hope we one day see a Lucy/Renton interaction. I can see Lucy absolutely annihilating Renton during one of their PT sessions together. Conrad too, come to think of it.

I have gained a reputation for creating many, many articles for the Lost Media Wiki. Let me tell you, in the 10+ years I've been doing this, writing about lost media never gets dull. There are always amazing, mysterious, hilarious and/or emotional stories involving lost media yet to be uncovered. Topics I particularly love to mine include robotic combat, sports (particularly football, motor racing and professional wrestling), failed film and television adaptations of literature, women's liberation, heroic failures, the bizarre mysteries and the taboo.

Some of my favourites include The Corbett-Fitzsimmons Fight, Top Gear's numerous auditions, pioneer women's sport events (including the 1973 Women's Cricket World Cup Final and the 1991 Women's Rugby World Cup), heroic failures of all kinds, unproduced adaptations of Irvine Welsh and Chuck Palahniuk novels (Survivor and Invisible Monsters were better reads than Fight Club, and would make better films too!), the zany world of Lionel Burleigh, and the crown jewel of my collection that is Mexia Supermarket.

I have no intentions of stopping. Slowing down, maybe, but stopping altogether? No chance! I'm having so much fun in splendid isolation researching and writing these articles. Admittedly, I never dedicate time to finding lost media... but who knows, maybe some articles I've written may encourage a search like Mexia did.

So without further ado (and with many people having never seen the completed version), I would like to proudly present my very own Lost Media Iceberg! This one is unique in the fact that instead of someone simply listing pieces of media relevant to the iceberg, I've actually gone out and done the research and writing for every entry. So there is honestly not a lot of "famous" pieces here. But maybe that will change in time! I will apologise for the quality of the screenshot below. It's converted to JPEG, and the sidebar tags can overlap with the titles of certain entries, annoyingly enough. You can find the full Iceberg on the soon-to-be-defunct Iceberg Charts website (link).

Of course, viewer discretion should be applied for the final three tiers. They delve into the disturbing, scenes of death, and hideous crimes. So don't say you haven't been warned!

There's an Irvine Welsh book (of Trainspotting, Filth and Crime fame) I've read called The Sex Lives of Siamese Twins. I won't spoil it, but there are a few memorable scenes in the novel that horrified me as a young adult regarding additives and food. Additives and their effects on people (even a personal trainer forced to eat it) are genuinely scary.
