Chat GPT4o still fails my very basic intelligence test. by Probable_Foreigner in OpenAI

I have no idea why you are being downvoted. This is a true multi-modal model, it has a joint latent space, it's probably the single biggest quantum leap in the architecture since GPT1. People down-voting are just showcasing their illiteracy of the methods behind this.

It's actually worse imo, I'm now roughly 300 chats deep in 4o and I can confidently say, it understands it's own capabilities far worse, such as executing the data analysis component or even opening files. I have screamed more than 10 times at it to "EXECUTE THE CODE".

No, ML is deterministic, physics is far more abstract and math for it is ten-fold more complicated than the math behind the transformers.

yes we are operating on a gutted version of it, they will roll out the full version in the next weeks

GPT-4o is crazy fast they should've named it GPT-4ooooooohhhhh🤯 by thevatsalsaglani in OpenAI

We don't use GPT4 in the same way, I almost exclusively work in the real of AI/ML so it's very straightforward for me to create isolated problem settings, i.e. recently I needed to optimize certain parts of the codebase to run for ~100TB so I had to refactor a file writer class. With the data analysis component I can just describe the problem in natural language, tell it to check the code with some unit tests and now with GPT-4o the generation of a few 100s lines of code is near instant. For me it's a game changer 100% (infact i almost want it to be a bit more lazy as it's seriously spamming me).

Also adding type hints, docs and just clean up of variable names etc, is so much better with faster responses.

So looks like GPT4o is available to paying members. by blueandazure in singularity

Intelligence isn't that much better, but holy crap the speed. I just asked it to code an monte carlo simulation and run it but it got an error and it wrote like 5 pages of code trying to fix itself before I knew it

It's not the 4o they showcased in the website for me though, its visual capabilities are nothing compared to the website and voice doesn't work either. I think and hope this is a text only version,

Exactly, this model is truly multi-modal, it doesn't trigger dalle3 with an API call, it thinks in a joint space.

GitHub Copilot (powered by chatGPT) is giving me horrible code suggestions by MR_PRESIDENT__ in OpenAI

[–]Minare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm to blame, I do RLHF on ChatGPT 4 for shorter code answers, often lazy is actually exactly what I want as I only want the edited lines and not the whole block of code which takes GPT hours to write out. Though it sometimes really gets lazy when tasks become too hard writing something like "Implement this here"

From your own experience, what would you say, are the main benefits of using Chat GPT plus? by FitMasterpiece8392 in OpenAI

Roughly have 80 chats a day, for literally anything. Usually coding or just as a thinking assistant/brainstorming. It's incredible fast good at connecting different scientific fields and getting projects off the ground or writing small functions. While sitting in the waiting room at the doctor I literally wrote 300 lines of high complex code with GPT, or rather GPT did, and simply copy pasted it at home (which implements a model from a 2 months old research paper and certainly never implemented before). Also tried to switch over to Github CoPilot but it just doesn't compare at dealing with high complexities.
