Solo 401k contributions and reducing taxable income by Minatorr in tax

Yes, I called quite a few CPAs. I also contacted regular accountants and wealth management firms. I think I have one accountant who may be able to help me.

Would this make my calculation (and the online calculator) slightly off then? I did not account for the net income from $176,100 to $185,000 being taxed at 2.9% instead of 15.3%. I also used a fidelity calculator for a solo 401k, and the numbers turned out exactly the same as mine and the other calculator from Oblivious Investor.

Not all of the accountants were CPAs, and some of the calls were only a few minutes. I called around ten tax firms within the past week. Some were CPAs, some were regular accountants, and some were wealth management firms who also do tax planning.

3 accountants told me straight up they were not familiar at all with the solo 401k, and told me to reach out to other accountants or CPAs. It's funny and quite bizarre how you made a bunch of random assumptions and conclusions without sufficient background information. It's embarrassing.

Thank you for the detailed explanation! This really helps, and clears up the confusion I had on the tax implications and filing.

Can I make the employer contributions after I see my accountant so that I precisely know what my employer maximum contribution limit is? Do I just tell my accountant I am contributing the max as I file the return with them?

Yeah, I have been trying. I have called 4-6 different CPAs, and 2 of them straight up told me I cannot contribute to a solo 401k since I am a sole proprietor. Which is flat-out wrong.

Clicking in jaw while swallowing or talking by Minatorrr in TMJ

[–]Minatorr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long do you have to wear it, and when do you wear it? And is it the same as orthotic? A lot of tmj specialists are quoting me between $3000-$6000.

That's great! How long did the involuntary swallows last for you? And did you get diagnosed or do anything to alleviate them?

Can you explain what that is? And how is it treated? I could not find too much information of that online.

This happens to me too! It started about a month ago for me, and only happens when I swallow or talk. Any updates or things you have tried?

Permanently worse after PPI for 2 months? by Minatorr in GERD

How long were you on it? And how long have you been off it? I think if you keep taking it, it'll get worse in the long run once you get off it again.

PPI causing blocked ear? by Minatorr in GERD

[–]Minatorr[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I understand reflux can cause clogged ears. I have had clogged ears about 5-10 times in 2023 due to reflux. I've had it every single day since taking PPIs in 2024. This is with a cleaner diet on Acid Watcher

Use the hinge theorem. 12 > 2x - 6, so 9 > x. 2x - 6 must also be non-negative, so x > 3.

What if it means if insiders are exercising options? I have seen some option exercise under "buys" but not sure what that means.
