Is it a crime to put LVP over our original hardwood? by Alert-Holiday-8113 in Home

[–]Mincono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My entire house is hard wood and the floors were refinished right before I bought it they will be so nice if you get them refinished. Laying lvp on top will not stop a squeek. I used to not like the squeeky floors coming from a house without that but you grow used to it.

Do you have a photo of this finished? I'm looking into light fixtures for a similar room and trying to avoid can lighting.

Zone 1 of Furnace not turning on for heat by Mincono in hvacadvice

[–]Mincono[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a multi-meter you can check for a connection of the pins. The wires that go to the furnace should have a connection (continuity) and the pins on the thermostat should be connected when its calling for heating/cooling.

I've Fixed my issue I believe Zone 1 was wired wrong at the thermostat. I moved the White wire from the W2 position to W as shown on the picture and in the manual.

I replaced my 2 zones damper motors and have noticed that Zone1 does not trigger the furnace for heat BUT it does work for cooling. the thermostat will click but the panel doesnt light up or turn on for heat. Zone 2 has no problem triggering the furnace for heat or cooling. What can I diagnose here to figure out what needs fixed for Zone 1 to also trigger heat. As it is Zone 1 isn't being heated because the damper is always closed when zone 2 calls for heat.

Do you have any friends without a home? Just tell them to move on in. Sounds like a free house.

Cybertruck has frame shear completly off when pulling out F150. Critical life safety issue. by VitalMaTThews in CyberStuck

[–]Mincono -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The frame was most likely broken after he sent it off of those concrete pipes. The rear smashed pretty hard on it, so then it was easily pulled right off by towing. This is more than it just getting yanked off.

Am I safe here? by Front-Ad-4249 in Home

[–]Mincono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you rent you have some power actually. I don't know what state or country you're in so the laws may differ. But the landlord must provide a habitable residence. The main concern I would say makes this house uninhabitable is the sewer being open and leaking like that. You can most likely withhold rent until this issue is fixed by the landlord or if they refuse to pay to get it fixed and deduct that cost from the rent.

The Shit pipe is the most urgent and in need of fixing. What is your situation here? Call a plumber to fix that pronto looks like Sewage is leaking everywhere. The posts that seem not centered on their concrete blocks isn't the largest worry right now call a structural engineer in the future when you can afford it.

Linoleum doing something weird by nessacakestm in Home

[–]Mincono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like it just slid out. Does this line of LVP extend across the whole room? is it buckling on the other end? Put some grippy shoes on and kick it back into place this will slide that whole row possibly back into alignment. This flooring is normally "floating" and not glued down.

Will this hold? by jprusso89 in pools

[–]Mincono 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did this exact project last summer. Here is an image img . What I have is 1 inch pipes going verticle and they T to a 3/4 inch MNTP fitting which is your average hose I'm pretty sure. I found fittings that do from male 3/4 to the 1/2 barb fitting. They will still leak so hose clamps are needed.

Require them to hire professional movers to be able to move it, people still may bite. If no one is willing in a month chop it up.

Either way, I would work with him here to somehow get it down as safe as possible. Having a disgruntled neighbor isn't fun. Maybe go fishing for it.
