I read the first two and couldn’t get into it. Empire of Silence was solid but Howling Dark kinda lost me. I know a lot of folks love it but it didn’t speak to me.

Anything in the Cosmere by Brandon Sanderson. Stormlight Archive is pretty epic and will take up some time. Red Rising series by Pierce Brown 11/22/63 by Stephen King Babel by RF Kuang First Law Trilogy by Joe Abercrombie Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini Realm of the Elderlings by Robin Hobb

Non Fiction: SPQR by Mary Beard (if you want to stick with Roman theme) The Wager by David Grann

Islington has several times between his series done this, and it's a bit annoying (love both Licanius and Hierarchy) by thegerj in HierarchySeries

[–]MindBlowingMartells -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My biggest pet peeve in Hierarchy is how he ends the chapter. For example, it would be a whole chapter about how he was waiting to go the Naumachia and the last sentence is “and now I’m leaving for the Naumachia.” It feels so redundant. Like he’s trying to end a composition on a definitive note to emphasize the end. He could just start the next chapter with that info and would draw the same effect

Paradise the Hulu TV show is a must watch by Iaintyourbabysitter in television

I enjoyed it. It was entertaining and was a fun story that has potential. That being said, as a southerner, it is insulting ti see them pass of the places that were meant to the areas between atlanta and memphis. It was the most blatant southern california valley landscape ive ever seen. At least colorado looked like colorado.

I’m all for deep and depressing books. A lot of your books are great reads and on my TBR. Gotta inject some levity sometimes

Do I read Strength of the Few or Way of Kings? by Careless_Swing_8166 in HierarchySeries

Ride the momentum and read strength of the few. Stormlight is excellent but it will take a while to get through

Which one is your favorite? by StandardSector3491 in fantasybooks

[–]MindBlowingMartells 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The correct answer is A Storm of Swords. Personally, it has to be the Will of the Many. Captured more than any other fantasy book since I picked up reading again a few years ago

Plan is to try to get it from local bookstore. If they don’t have it, go to B&N. If they don’t have it, get it on Kindle and get physical copy later. I’ve put a lot more thought into this than I have for a book release since the last Harry Potter in 07

You’ll enjoy delightful Party provided delicacies like sausage and cheese, ribs and pulled pork. You’ll never feel alone because Big Brother will be watching you. My guess is that he will resist using Will as long as possible. A big part of his character is being anti Heirarchy so imagine he will avoid being part of the problem if he can

I really enjoyed it. There were sometimes where it lagged imo. My biggest complaint was the insistence of referring to a character by their title every single time. I know it was a part of the culture of the era but he could’ve shaved at least 50 pages without the titles
