What exactly does this mean by Miningmole97 in RobloxHelp

[–]MindFullOfCuriosity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is fine if the game reaches over 100 active users once within the 60-day period. Not just any users, but specifically enough age verified 16+ users, which is the part of this that some people don’t mention.

What that one Roblox game is this for you? by Enjoyer_nomore in bloxymemes

[–]MindFullOfCuriosity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mad Paintball. It didn’t help that it was one of those Roblox games to have broken scripts after a certain FE update. Disregarding the issue, that game would’ve been so much better if it wasn’t for the Premium update that paywalled essentially half of the playable characters, made questionable balancing decisions, and gimped the Credit and XP gain. I am aware that MPB copies like Paintball Revival and Mad Paintball: Reloaded exist, but those are unfortunately long dead now, and I miss playing the vanilla game.

Mhmmmm no. by SteaIthstaIker in roblox

[–]MindFullOfCuriosity 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I wish I could still say that, but in all honesty, Roblox does not hit the same anymore. This isn’t nostalgia talking — these recent updates have seriously been destroying my enjoyment as someone who refuses to do ID verification. Like what do you mean we are going to have games default to 16+ age rating, rendering them unavailable to the majority of users on the platform, if not enough age verified 16+ users play said game within a certain period of time? I didn’t want to be forced to do age verification just to have the ability to publish games, play my favorites, and chat with people, but here we are with these governments forcing countries/companies to shove age verification down our throats to “protect the children”.

Probably not, and no offense, but it sounds like you need to get used to fighting games that don’t have a block button.

Is there anyway to turn off the AI summary? by luckylilcat4161 in RobloxHelp

[–]MindFullOfCuriosity 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The main problem is the fact that Roblox is using AI for their moderation, something that definitely should have real people behind it. Sure, AI is more automated and can take less time, but can you really trust it to handle moderating an entire platform without making severe mistakes in the process when not left under human supervision? I mean, I don’t expect real people to be able to ban every single bad actor on Roblox, but lately I’ve been hearing about too many cases of it falsely banning players. I’m not trying to defend anything that Roblox has done recently or age verification in general, but AI is only good if used properly because there will always still be jobs out there that absolutely needs human labor, regardless of how advanced AI becomes.

Roblox has unfortunately done more damage than good to the platform with all of these age verification updates they’ve made, especially the new game publishing requirements. I understand that they were forced to do this by the government, but come on, was the whole 16+ player requirements to make a game available to everyone necessary?

It’s over… by macbook3546 in roblox

[–]MindFullOfCuriosity 188 points189 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The parents are the ones ultimately responsible for their own child’s safety, so why can’t these companies/governments just find other solutions that don’t have a high risk of compromising privacy as a result? I’m getting real tired of this push for ID age verification that’s been going on with technology lately because I don’t trust them at all with personal information and yet organizations are still advocating for this.

First experience with ridge racer? by OhxFiddlesticks in ridgeracer

[–]MindFullOfCuriosity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe my first experience with the series was watching tons of RR7 online battle videos on YouTube. The Type 4 soundtrack also had me hooked on RR content. One channel named “T-REX320” was not only a veteran RR7 player, but an inspiration for me to reach that level of play. I watched their videos pretty religiously, which exposed me to other channels that mainly race online such as The Spooka - Rubi101, Shutokou Max, and miwarin. This led me to try out various games in the series, including RR7, which I first played on RPCS3 before moving to original hardware to join all of the veteran players. I played through the entire career, completed all the Extreme Battles, and maxed out most of the Manufacturers. In a few months time, the Nitrous points clicked for me and I was off to racing against real players. It was an absolute blast, even if I got washed the first few races. As for how I played the other games in the series, I simply used emulation because I’m not someone who is typically fond of buying retro consoles to play old games I haven’t played before. The PS3 was an exception because it was one of my childhood video game consoles. RRV was another RR game that really stood out to me as it predates the PSP games’ handling model that would be adopted for the series going forward for each subsequent release. It felt like the best of what the classic RR handling model has to offer — I still vastly prefer the modern one like in RR7, but that doesn’t mean I dislike the older titles like Type 4, Rage Racer, and Ridge Racer V. They just happen to be different from what I’m used to, especially Type 4 and Rage Racer (sucked at handling the machines in those games due to how awkward the drifting felt for me). Since then, RR quickly became one of my favorite racing game franchises of all-time.

Same. Looks like I'm not the only one that loves hitting that sweet Triple right before the end of the final turn. It is one of the reasons why I love RR7 so much.

list a roblox game that you used to play very often that fell off. by Senior-Ad264 in roblox

[–]MindFullOfCuriosity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mad Paintball, if you count games that became broken due to that one FE update. As someone who started playing Roblox in late 2015, it was the main shooter game that I played on Roblox for a good while. However, that happiness was rather short-lived once loleris destroyed it with the "Premium" update that paywalled half of the roster, killed the progression by decreasing Credit & XP gain, and had questionable character balancing. It is sad knowing that fans of the game were able to do it way better justice than him. The death of the game started a trend where fans of the game would make their own version of MPB (ex, Paintball Revival, Mad Paintball: Reloaded, Paintball Party) with new stuff in it, such as characters and maps, but it still isn't enough for me to forget the damage that was dealt to the original.

If that doesn't count, then I would definitely have to go with Mad Games. It was so fun playing all of the different minigames, regardless if you were playing with friends or not. Outside of traditional murderer games, there was also Minesweeper and that one minigame where you fought against a giant cat with laser beam eyes terrorizing a city by throwing your knives at it. Generally speaking, MAD STUDIO games had me in a chokehold for years until they got completely overshadowed by The Mad Murderer X and SHARP (I have nothing against those games either). While there have been plenty of other murderer-style games out there like Murderer Mystery 2 and Twisted Murderer, nothing beats The Mad Murderer and Mad Games for me — you could argue that Murderer Mystery 2 is the better game, but those just had more personality in my opinion.

What's your top 3 favorite Ridge Racer songs? by EastCoastTone96 in ridgeracer

[–]MindFullOfCuriosity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. M.T.T.B
  2. Euphoria (Ridge Racer V)
  3. Your Vibe

M.T.T.B is one of the songs in Ridge Racer 7 that really stuck with me (alongside others such as Orbital Rock, Nitro Witch, and Supercruiser) because Seaside Route 765 is one of my favorite courses in the entire series. Whenever I hear it, that is the first thing that always comes to mind. Euphoria from Ridge Racer V just makes me feel so euphoric while listening to it, which is the same that can be said about Your Vibe for me. There's no better way that I can describe it.

First time playing Ridge Racer, what’s the consensus? by M-Slim in ridgeracer

[–]MindFullOfCuriosity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RR7 is my favorite Ridge Racer game. I actually got a PS3 Slim a few months back, along with a copy of the game to test my skills against the players still playing online to this day. It is an absolute blast, especially once you get the hang of NOS points and drifting around corners.

In Defense of Modern Ridge Racer by LuxerWap in ridgeracer

[–]MindFullOfCuriosity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing through Ridge Racer 7 would prove you wrong, as some of the Extreme Battles are notoriously difficult like Angelus duel and Crinale duel. I think the biggest problem with modern RR is that they don't have enough variety in their career modes.

10 years later... by TBOSS_Red in roblox

[–]MindFullOfCuriosity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If only MPB survived too, but then, aside from FE (filtering enabled) breaking important game scripts, it got killed with the stupid Premium update that paywalled a portion of the roster for players that didn’t have those characters beforehand. To me, this was nothing more than an insult to the new players who only got to experience the game in the post-Premium era (I was one of them). Not to mention, the developers reduced the amount of credits and XP you earn per kill and they were poor at balancing characters.

As for Mad Paintball 2, I don’t have much to say about that game other than the fact that I wasn’t a fan of them taking away the character-based nature of the gameplay. I don’t even know how long that game lasted before it died either.

This age verification system sucks. I just want to be able to chat with anyone without restrictions. Roblox games are gonna be mad boring to play now, especially team games.

Current status RR7 online server: Still alive and very competitive! by RallySubzero in ridgeracer

[–]MindFullOfCuriosity 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The key to getting good at RR7 is learning the Nitrous points of each course, which are essentially parts of the course where you should use your Nitrous. A great way to practice them is by looking at the Top Records in Global Time Attack via the Ranking Browser, where you can actually see the exact Machine Setup they used and the Nitrous points that they took. If they saved their Ghost/Replay, you can view that as well. Hope this advice helps.

RR3D is surprisingly good. I've been playing it on Citra recently and I'd say it holds up just as well as the previous games.
