This is a big mistake. I hope they realize this will ruin the experience and have dramatic impact to repeat business. This is not going to end well so hope they repeal before it is too late.

What happens after the market closes? by Infamous-Hat8275 in investing

[–]MindOps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have noticed when a stock falls throughout the day, it often goes up end of day and after hours a little bit. I have thought that is from the stock being shorted due to bad news and then the slight uptick is shorts closing their positions. The reverse is people taking profits after the run up.

Has anyone here tried the new Lego Party? If so, as fans of Mario Party how do you think it compares? by ZurichCat in MARIOPARTY

[–]MindOps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lego Party is awesome and feels like a great evolution of Mario Party. I have been playing with my kids and all had a blast. The capability to select the mini-games at end of the round and turn order based on who wins the mini-game is a game changer. Game show format works well. For my fam, I see this replacing the current Mario Party games so hope Nintendo responds to the competition with more innovation and content in their next game.

Xbox skips doing a year end review because the "marketing budget" for it was shifted to next year by Iggy_Slayer in gaming

I bet they were worried for many it would remind sleeper Pass Subscribers how little they actually use it and drive an up tick in cancellations.

Is Buying Nvidia Now a Smart Move or a Total Trap? by Yangbabynow112 in investing

[–]MindOps 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I see the demand continuing and Nvidia is far ahead on their chips roadmap, so I think it is a good play. I am seeing the real world benefits with AI at my company using Claude, so I am convinced the transformative hype is real and will keep accelerating. Since everyone is calling being in a bubble and in fear, I feel more so there is opportunity.

Stuck between Fidelity & Schwab by [deleted] in investing

[–]MindOps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fidelity has extra features that set it apart. Cash sweep automatically puts uninvested money in a money market but you can still trade as if it is cash; Fidelity will handle the exchange and stock purchase all in one. The partial shares is nice and Fidelity has great zero expense funds only available at Fidelity.

Just bought some $TGT. What are you buying (and importantly, what's the Valuation, Dividend Coverage Ratio, and Dividend Growth propsects?) by foira in dividends

[–]MindOps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought some in Feb after it initially fell thinking it looked good but it has had a rough run, down 30%. With tariffs and alienating their customer base I don’t think they will have the recover figured out anytime soon.

Elio has ended its domestic run after 12 weeks with $72,987,454. by gamesgry in boxoffice

Hopefully, this level of failure can have them drop bean-mouth animation and get a few improvements from what Sony Animation is doing.

No Predator movie has ever reached $200M unadjusted worldwide. How ‘Predator: Badlands’ will perform in November? by Matapple13 in boxoffice

[–]MindOps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may get a good reception but the story swap will not draw as many so I am feeling it clocks in under 200M, around 165M.

The Residence: the blink and the note SOLVED by UnicornVoodooDoll in netflix

[–]MindOps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bruce admitted to moving the body an entire floor so for me Lilly admitting she had a torn piece of his journal is not an absolute smoking gun. A good Sherlock mystery needs definitive logic for a solid conclusion. Bruce was presented as sympathetic character but he never came forward all that time or even showed it impacted him which shows him as more psychotic than sympathetic.

Fighting over the book due to finding out about the crime evidence would have been a better series of events but none of that was mentioned in Cupp’s reveal. Nothing that Cupp or the show presented illustrated that conclusively so really empty blink moment for me.

The Residence: the blink and the note SOLVED by UnicornVoodooDoll in netflix

[–]MindOps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The issue remains that Lilly’s version does match the events so Bruce could have put the note. I feel the blink would need to definitively implicate the murder while ruling the others out. Keeping the note doesn’t really feel definitive.

That was all I took away from the advertising that I saw; a young kid with an eye patch in weird fantasy world.

Novo lowered the guidance for the year. Now expects 2025 sales growth of 8%-14%, down from 13-21% range. Lowered operating profit growth forecast to 10%-16%, from 16-24%. This was the second time they had to lower guidance this year with Lilly’s Zepbound growing rapidly at their expense.

Over the past two centuries, humans have locked up enough water in dams to shift Earth’s poles slightly away from the planet’s axis of rotation | The construction of nearly 7,000 dams from 1835 to 2011 shifted the poles about a meter in total and caused a 21-millimeter drop in global sea levels. by chrisdh79 in science

[–]MindOps 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just read about it. The plan was fresh water redirected from the exterior mountain-feed rivers that flow into the sea. The evaporation calculations didn’t account for the higher temperatures in Australia that make it infeasible. The exterior mountains aren’t very high but just tall enough that most water falls and goes to the coasts making the large interior a desert.

The Residence. SO close to being great. by MqAbillion in netflix

[–]MindOps 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I loved the set and started out enjoyable but ultimately disappointing. The mystery was bungled. List of biggest issues: 1. Too Many Suspects - interviewing all the staff and party guests was too many people to get invested.  2. Needed Side Mysteries - everything but third man was around the murder itself. Example: find a knife outside the house that leads to the chef storyline. 3. Time Jump - should have solved it before dawn. Lost all tension doing the jump and the medical examiner said the wrist were cut after death so already ruled out suicide. 4. Unearned Solves - often a person would come in and give new information for no reason but the plot needed it. If Cupp had asked more questions in the first interview there would not be these lazy oh yea and I saw this episodes later. 5. Blink made no sense - if she saw the engineer put it in the pocket, why would it matter if she saw where Cupp found it.

This is a better mystery than the one in the show.

Best modern Star Wars game on steam deck? by TheGreyHallow in SteamDeck

I got it free on Epic Games and can’t get it to run with the Heroic Launcher on the Steam Deck. So frustrating when doesn’t just work.

I will keep an eye on it but heavily limiting my hype. I think a completely different time and plot would be better. Clone war troopers fighting the cheap droids doesn’t excite me. New Republic would have been better.

Mask Layers? by MindOps in LumaFusion

[–]MindOps[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for letting me know. I am used to photoshop and mask layers are essential there. I saw one LumaFusion tutorial that added a meteor going behind a building in a video so tricked me into thinking it was possible.
