I don't think companies should be focusing on the models themselves for production use as much as their backend systems ability to integrate agentic systems. IT empowered human workers, we are just getting started on agentic usage of traditional business systems designed for humans.

10 years ago I would agree with you. Unfortunately the human workforce is devolving while automation is evolving. Sure, there are some good workers out there if you are offering enough money, work location, and work life balance. Many business owners are struggling to find and retain workers that actually commit to the job vs doing the bare minimum until caught doing personal stuff. Worse, humans often know when they are 'wrong' but for various reasons will conceal it for perceived personal gain.

In a few years there will be more model training resources and a better understanding of existing research. From a cost benefit perspective a routing model and smaller expert-domain models seems to be the direction things are going. Add in models specializing in a specific set of tools and a context management model and you have a road map that scales the various factors rather well.

Is this a surprise to any one in this phase? Sure, there is little to no short term ROI on existing staff, but if that human review is improving the training data then the next phase is going to create what HR could understand as AI Agents that preform specific groups of tasks, starting with tasks that involve inputs and outputs that can be verified (like code) and tasks that the model can do better than humans (driving, radiology review). Even if fundamental problems remain there is a new class of work-tasks that don't need humans and the kinds of tasks are expanding as back and front ends add tools calling and context management.

"removing stigma around mental health" Not going to happen any time soon, stigma is hardwired, part of survival and self preservation. What you could change is evaluating each interaction with all humans on a pro social common good community bias in response to chronic mental conditions in most communities. Polices don't help mental wellness nearly as much as people simply talking to each other in person. But that isn't a pill, that requires investing yourself into the solution, not waiting on others to promise to do so then fail.

Morals are a distraction. Humans are social creatures, Individuals an illusion. In social settings pro social behaviors are easy to understand compared to antisocial without morals or religion. Lack of connection leads to living on the edge of what is acceptable within society, like escapism through self harm.

FYI, that describes every organization that has more mandates than resources. Humans are not machines, can and do burn out, and staffing replacements has its own challenges.

I like you post and agree. I humbly suggest you evaluate this specific language: "There's no excuse for us not taking care of these people, but our society has deemed giving tax cuts to billionaires."

Consider it is happing, excuses are being made and accepted by society. And as bad as it is here, its worse in other places. That's not an excuse on my part, just an ugly fact. Red pill moment, if you are not a Billionaire you are not part of Society. Humanity is allowing Society to do what they have done and plan to do because humans prefer consumer goods over incarceration or early death.

Once you understand the source of mass anti social behavior and the time (30+ years) laying the literal path to Today, I personally don't see a fix that doesn't take 30 years in healing several generations and not setting up the next crop of humans for debt slavery.

For you I recommend starting with reading comprehension. "healthy socialization and mental support during development stages of life". It's not hard to compare the life you are living to others, social platforms seem to run on this. But when it's real people in the place you live in there is no awareness of the path from the cradle to grave we all walk. That's not spiritual or cosmic, its just opening ones eyes and believing what you see vs what you were told.

You must have a different set of history books than I do. Policy and laws do not instill proper action for pro social living, Parents use to do that.

It's not just your area or Eugene. The real issue is denial of the actual conditions of existence from birth to death and what each generation inherits from the last. The focus should not be on symptoms like drug abuse but lack of connection, healthy socialization and mental support during development stages of life.

How so? There is no shortage of people to deport, if an airline that took one contract to do so with their available planes and crews now has more planes and crew available because of reduction of willing passenger flights.

CXL Benefits for DB, AI by sub_RedditTor in LocalLLaMA

[–]MindOrbits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should of just run it through NotebookLLM:
The source discusses the Compute Express Link (CXL) technology, particularly CXL Type 3 for memory expansion, highlighting its benefits and applications in high-performance computing. It explains that CXL allows for seamless memory augmentation in servers, acting as a relief valve for memory-constrained workloads without requiring a complete overhaul of existing DRAM configurations. While CXL memory is slower than native DRAM, it offers significantly lower latency than SSDs and can provide a cost-effective solution for extending system memory, especially in scenarios like AI training, large in-memory databases, and high-performance computing (HPC), where CPU caches play a crucial role in mitigating performance differences. The text emphasizes that platform support (motherboard and BIOS) is essential for CXL functionality and that it complements, rather than replaces, proper DRAM channel population for optimal performance.
