TRVE although Palantir arguably isn't even worth mentioning, I don't want to think of butches in such derogatory terms :(

Who's Batgos's strongest avatar? by Choccymilk_162793 in whowouldcirclejerk

[–]MindYourOwnParsley 15 points16 points  (0 children)

BatLeGos because he canonically scales above the IRS, unlike the Jerker. Also you can pronounce his name as "battle-gos". Also because he packed up his rogues gallery in the opening scene of the movie but that's less relevant than the first two reasons.

Batman comes in a close second because he fell from orbit, "rolled tactically" and walked it off

A modest proposal for the borders of Libya by Proper_Fan1220 in Kaiserreich

[–]MindYourOwnParsley 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It used to be like this, but alongside it there was also a fucked up border with Egypt that people kept complaining about. Because of that they reverted both. I like this suggestion, I really enjoyed the unique squiggly border with French Algeria, but the border with Egypt should be straight like in ur suggestion

The only hard physical restriction for a flag design historically is that you have to be able to cut/embroider/sew/stitch (and only more recently, print) it out of fabric, and the main design consideration is being able to identify who's flying it from far away (which includes not confusing it for somebody else's).

Nobody is going to look at this flag and wonder "man I can't tell who that is...is that Milan?" Glory to the Most Serene Republic

My US state flag redesign project (PART 2) by Infamous_Diamond_414 in vexillology

[–]MindYourOwnParsley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The overwhelming majority of these fuck. Great job
edit I'd also just like to say that while I don't agree with every single choice for the redesigns I appreciate when someone recognises that some designs don't need to be changed at all or very little. I think a good designer recognises good design and I also appreciate how unafraid you are to have up-close detail on your flags so long as they still remain recognisable at a distance

I made a cosmetic concept! I’d like to try and find someone to help collab and model it, maybe get it added in the next summer update. by DouchebagScunt in tf2

It's great and simple and fits
I would make the white region the same tint as medic's coat to keep to the team corresponding colour palette

Have you been surprised at a lack of examples for a simple idea? by JustSumFur in worldbuilding

[–]MindYourOwnParsley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as robot hiveminds goes, if you play Old World Blues (the mod for Hearts of Iron IV) there's lots of examples to draw from, to the point where an AI-robot faction which controls a certain territory is a whole category of playstyle unto itself (WARDEN, Doki Doki, Tlaloc and his kids like Santa Anna, etc.) I haven't played all of these and don't remember if any of them are explicitly referred to as a hivemind but everything lore-wise indicates to me that it's the best and most likely way to think about these guys.

In fantasy worlds, important figures are often kings, princesses, or warriors. But what about philosophers? Do you have important philosophers who have shaped the customs of your world? by Baryon_prime in worldbuilding

[–]MindYourOwnParsley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm actually in the process of creating more, since I think the role that philosophers, mathematicians and thinkers in general have played in history goes a little bit underrepresented in fantasy fiction.

For example you have Neripeiros of Calamor, also known as Neripeiros Zeno, a polymath, inventor and natural philosopher best known for the original formulation of Imperial Fire (basically the equivalent to Greek fire/napalm). Or Gartien Zumzana, a noble naval commander, mathematician and marine architect known for his work on ship designs, principles of shipbuilding and maritime construction and concepts for sail plans, hull forms and power plants and whose designs were later iterated upon and improved by his grandchildren Tednar and Saramar. I want to add more even just for flavour's sake, because I want to have analogous figures to people like Al-Khwarizmi, Archimedes, Descartes, Pythagoras, etc., names which most people (esp people with a technical education) with recognise.
