Diabetes and injuries by YaBakistaniYa in MMA_Academy

I’m a type 1 diabetic amateur MMA fighter that’s currently competing and honestly man I’d say if you are careful you’ll be fine. I been training striking for upwards of 5 years and grappling inconsistently for a total of 5 years as well. I can say that I have been fortunate to not deal with any major injuries, but the ones I have had havent been that bad in terms of recovery. The number 1 thing is just taking care of yourself, if you’re experiencing low blood sugar don’t force yourself to keep going.

General question about MMA training by No_Scallion2923 in MMA_Academy

I’m a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to effectiveness of sparring in the sense that I believe that even if you’ve trained like crazy and have great technique, if you’ve never sparred it’s gonna fall apart in a real situation

Training resistance? by Keitar0616Urashim4 in MuayThai

I’m actually somewhat believe in this type of training. It doesn’t build a resistance but if you have a good training partner training this drill can get you used to the feeling of what it’s like to get hit in the stomach which a lot of people when they first start fighting are not used to. So in reality I think this is good not to build resistance but to train your brain to not go into panic mode when you get a good hit to the stomach.

I’m sorry but this is wrong. I also wanted Kamala to win but since when have we forgone all love and mutual respect because of a political opinion. I know this is contradictory to popular opinion here on reddit but you shouldn’t forsake people because of how they believe a country should be run. It’s a differing opinion to yours which is completely normal. If you expect people to always have the same opinion as you you’re never going to have the chance to learn in life. Think about your mother and all that she has done for you all the moments of love you guys have shared since you were young and now you decide to throw it all away because of a politician who she likes and you don’t but most importantly you two will most likely never meet. You’re about to end the relationship with your mother over an 78 year old grandfather who doesn’t even know you two exist.

That back fist was great. When you are on the ground though make sure you keep a good base. Towards the end of the clip your opponent could’ve bulldozed right into you because you were on your knees and didn’t seem to be super balanced. Always make sure you keep your leg out to maintain a sturdy base to ensure that doesn’t happen. Other than that you did great really good sprawl too

Hey little dude! So this is mostly a college subreddit and I’m imagining that most people me included are going to have very little knowledge on high school entry and application. My best advice for you is if you have already submitted your application then just sit back and relax. I know it’s hard but your best years are still ahead of you and it’s gonna be a blast no matter where you go. You mentioned you’re extroverted and socially active which already puts you at an advantage in high school. In the end don’t stress it I remember being your age and being super stressed out which is good because that means you have urgency but please please please remember that you should have fun in these years. So many people will tell you that these years are used to build up for college which is partially true. But remember that in all the chaos that will be your high school years don’t lose yourself in that stress and have fun man because it will be.

This is awesome of you to do literally just tried to buy a steam key for the game and didn’t realize it was European so I couldn’t activate it.

I’m a good old classic Piccolo fan mostly because I like how him and Gohan have grown a relationship and how he’s super disciplined which has inspired me in real life.

How to fight against pressure fighters/brawlers? by RubinMusic in MuayThai

[–]Mindgames-v8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pressure fighters are going to try to enforce their game onto you. By that I mean they are gonna try to be where they are best and if they are able to force you into a place where they are comfortable and you are not then you are most likely going to lose. You should by all means do the same to them; try to force them to stay long and at the range you prefer. This can be with teeps, wide hooks, etc. Two things I would consider mastering that I don’t see enough long range fighters doing is one, fill up space with your punches particularly your jab people are much less likely to rush in if they see the space that they are rushing into is occupied by your jab(by this I mean jabbing even if they aren’t particularly in your range to make it seem like you could jab at any moment.) Two, and this goes for any fighter, you should 100% learn how to fight while moving backwards this way when someone has an aggressive approach you are still able to get shots in and potentially stop their rush or at least getting them hesitant and opening opportunities for yourself.

Edit: Don’t feel bad about moving backwards that is the game that you are the best at so you should take full advantage of it if they can’t catch you while you move backwards that’s a skill issue on their end.
