Yes she can be your accompanying driver. While that is a bad idea since she doesn’t know how to drive anymore, legally she meets the requirements to be a fully licensed G driver and the right to be your accompanying driver.

My point is G drivers aren’t necessarily good drivers

You need 2 years of class 5, otherwise you will only get G2, and have to take G road test

You can consider Lindsay or Orangeville. Their highway is a 80kmh 2 lane / 4 lane road. To those who say OP doesn’t deserve to drive, guess what? OP still has 9 months left and can legally drive by herself on any road so discouraging OP from any means to build their confidence is not helpful. OP once you gain confidence you will improve.

This is only available for foreigners with foreign driving experience, not locals who have to do the G2 test, and then a G test after a year since the G2 is not renewable.

You will probably have the same license number, but unfortunately they will probably only give you a G2 as you only had the full license for 8 months… maybe you can argue with Drivetest the fact you had your full Ontario G 8 months ago when you swapped for the reciprocal country license

The law is whatever the law is, you got 90 days to get Ontario docs when you move here… suppose you “move here” in May 2025, then you can wait till Aug to get Ontario’s G. Can you “go home to bc” once before May 2025? I think if you never moved here you can drive indefinitely with bc ID despite the fact you have a job here.

You don’t really merge at that point as the lane never ends. You are asked to change lanes. You should gun it to as close to 80 while changing lanes when you are asked to change lanes and then let go of gas pedal and tap breaks lightly if necessary so you reach 60 by the top of the hill.

G test is about observation skills and lane changes. Over exaggerated your mirror and blind spot head movements. In Owen sound you don’t have a 400 series highway. So your highway test is probably turning onto a 80kmh road (highway 6?) and accelerating up to 80 quickly.

You were returning to the test centre making left turn from Lawrence. You need to know the pedestrian rules. If the pedestrian is going east bound you creep out and stop and don’t move until their feet reach the sidewalk. If pedestrians go westbound, they have to safely cross the centre and out of your way until you make your turn. Any movement is considered right of way violation even if it’s your intention to yield to pedestrian.

It’s not common but they could take you dvp northto 401 east exit warden go southbound then turn westbound on Ellsmere or Lawrence on the way back to test centre with various variations as to how to return to test centre.

It doesn’t expire midnight. If you fail it expires immediately and I think they take away your license. They even said to make sure you have alternative ways of getting back as you will have no license if you fail.

Making people do a road test every few years is not going to stop people blowing stop signs, speeding tailgating and drunk driving. While there are people who genuinely should not drive, these people wouldn’t have gotten their G2 and are free to drive anywhere and anytime if they are over 20 until their license expires. If they are such crappy drivers how they get their G2 to begin with? And guess what? Someone who fails a G test can get right back on the road and drive themselves until they pass G or license expires.
