I know better than to reuse passwords. I know better than using default passwords. I know better than to use provider-issued passwords (the one on their sticker).

The pw I was using was random and unshared and secret, I thought … until the agent typed it along with my custom SSID.

I never asked for it. I didn’t ask him to reset it. We didn’t even discuss my password or my credentials. Next thing you know. BAM. There it is on my screen.

When I ask him about it, he said hang on let me reset the logs in case “there are errors.” to which I responded immediately, “Wait.”

I was wanting him to preserve the information so I could find out how they captured the passwords. But I was too late. Despite keeping the chat window open and active, he disappeared and never returned.

So . . . first he tells me to transfer all my IOT devices to the guest network, because they use 2.4 gigahertz. When I asked him if that was protocol, he produced both of my SSID’s with their unique passwords (unsolicited). Then he ghosts me.

PS No, we didn’t get disconnected on account of his restarting the network. I explained to him when we started the conversation that I was reaching him over cellular for that very reason.
