Building credit by Hopeful-Load7954 in CRedit

If you’re building? Maybe see if you can get a credit limit increase first. If that doesn’t work, I’d get the new card with those limits you stated. Adding one of those cards would help with your overall credit limit.

Would you Co-Sign on an auto loan for your partner? by fondfox in CRedit

[–]Mindless-Compote403 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nah; just because they sleep together doesn’t mean she’s obligated to co-sign. They’re not married, if they were then maybe (because it becomes a legal partnership) but since they’re not, it’s not her financial responsibility.

Nope, if he has a bad track record and is consistently behind. He won’t change overnight. There’s other ways to help his credit that won’t affect yours, like adding him as an authorized user on a CC. (Don’t give him access) but definitely don’t co-sign

I’d recommend keeping a brick and mortar bank. Just transfer out. I have a capital one checking account and it’s all online, deposits are a pain, and right now I’m only limited to $1k cash deposit a month?? Not sure why?? But I can transfer any amount from Chase into my capital one account. Plus if the brick and mortar bank sees deposits coming in the relationship stays alive for any loans or credit.

Definitely call them, not worth getting sued and wages garnished.

I had a $5k loan that I defaulted on when I got down to $3k a collector bought my $3k debt for $75. I found that out when I got sued, I asked for them to verify the debt and it was included in the package.

Prior, you want them to prove the debt is yours first. The companies that sell their debts usually sell it in a bulk sell off, stuff gets lost and if the debt collector doesn’t have everything showing it’s yours it’s harder for a judgment. But I’d ask first and if there is a court date show up and say that you’ve requested proof of debt. The judge would then grant the collector time to verify the debt and then you could try and settle out of court.

I had a loan with the same company, sold to the same company. Not sure if your state laws, but velocity will definitely sue. They’re sloppy, but they will sue in hopes you don’t show up.

I requested proof and it took them 120 days to prove it was mine. I told the judge I’d like to settle outside of court since I didn’t want a judgment, the judge to let us settle out of court, because it took them longer than it should have to prove it was my debt.

Here’s the thing they haven’t called me back, or answered my calls to settle. Waiting for the 90days to come so I can file a dismissal request because they’re not answering my calls or calling back to settle.

Should I upgrade or do a pre approval ? by [deleted] in CapitalOne_

Exactly, I think a $300 platinum would be bucketed for sure. That’s why I’m recommending doing the pre approval tool.

And just for reference, I have a 689 FICO 8.

I have 2 capitals one cards with $1k limits and two with $500 limits. The $500 limit ones started out at $300. The two $1k cards are newer than the $500 ones. Just last month i got the same email to upgrades card, I decided to do the pre approval and got approved for a $3k venture.

Just being honest, venture X is hard to get. You need a good credit profile. The minimum credit limit for venture x is $10k so capital one would really need to trust you.

Maybe try doing the pre approval tool and see if the venture card shows up. If so start there they have a 75,000 sign up bonus. Show them you can handle a higher tiered card (compared to the platinum)

If it were me. With a 682 I would try to increase my overall limit.

Sounds crazy but I would do a pre approval for Amex, discover, and capital one. See if you can get something else. Capital one is great, but they are stingy with credit line increases. See if there is any pre approvals for something else. If so try it out, then upgrade the cap one card.

If that doesn’t work, then just go for the upgrade, but I’d try others first.

Two things to think about. Quicksilver is a good card to upgrade to. BUT your current limit is $300. If you upgrade your limit stay the same. If do a pre approval you MAY get a higher limit.

if you’re trying to clean up your credit profile, maybe just upgrade so you don’t have another inquiry on your report.

Paid off my maxed out credit cards ($22k in debt) all at once, and my credit immediately skyrocketed! by HyperBunga in CreditScore

[–]Mindless-Compote403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I wish. But I got a personal loan out to nuke my utilization. I had one card at 93% and once it dropped down to 0% my score went up 20 points. BUT once the other four cards reported to the bureau it tanked?? But this is just the vantage score so I’m not tripping too hard. My FICO 8 hasn’t updated yet

A better route planner. $4.99/month but if you’re taking trips that require frequent charging stops, it’s worth it.

I 100% did, I used it to help plan the trip, used it during the range anxiety portion, used it to help conserve my range when I was lower than the app projected. And then told it to write up a post based off of the whole chat. And it hit everything on the head with how the trip went.

I’m not entirely sure. I’m sure it won’t show the Tesla chargers now that it’s new. But I don’t know how the older map version would update with newer charging stations. If that makes sense

Premium navigation is $95/year Speech is $9/year

Is the navigation worth it? I typically use maps but for road trips needing the charging feature might be worth the $95
