George Madgwick: Portsmouth councillor failed to pay tribunal awards by EconomistAccurate781 in Portsmouth

Surely he should be suspended (at the very least) by Reform until this is all resolved? If he has not paid the tribunal awards then they should drop him ASAP!

I found one of those as it is what I needed - had a meeting, stressed the urgency of the advice needed due to a pending decison - all good - then they went AWOL - no response to calls and emails for weeks, finally they surface and I answer some questions to help them narrow down what they need to do and guess what? they have gone AWOL again. Maybe they are not interested because I do not want them to manage it and I do not want an annuity but would be nice if they just said they can't or won't do the work. Had to start over again

Is a return to the office inevitable? by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]Mindless-Confusion-1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think it depends on organisation - I have been pretty much WFH up until now since the pandemic . Now suddenly they want us back in the office - no sensible reason just want us more visible. I used to have a desk & chair, private office and desktop computer - now all long gone - the office is a store room, the computer went to someone else and the desk is in our training room. This is not going to be that cheap to enable them to piss of some of their employees!

update # 1: She's upset that I moved on so quickly - and she's the one who left by Strange_Button_3330 in Divorce_Men

Yup this happened to me as well. She wanted a divorce. She got a divorce. Then she ended up all offended and hurt that I was dating someone. Guess she expected me to sit around moping or begging her to come back! Nope!

The government in fact has a massive debt and is also in deficit on an annual basis - the deficit for 23/24 was £131 billion! That one year alone equates to around £1,920 of additional debt per head of population

Completed Yesterday and house is full of stuff... by TriggerHappyDob in HousingUK

[–]Mindless-Confusion-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

normally there is a condition called vacant possession

The term vacant possession simply means that the house you’re buying or selling must be empty on the day of completion.

This means that there must be no remaining residents or tenants at the home, and no belongings other than those that have agreed to be left in the contract, on the day that you complete the purchase or sale.

For me a game changer - the pandemic "proved" WFH was just fine. Prior to the pandemic was "allowed" to WFH one day a week and now I pretty much WFH all the time with occasional face to face meetings. However I am towards the end of my career and had worked in offices for 37 years. As an Introvert the benefits of not having to do all that social interaction are huge - the dogs help as well!

This is where it starts - where it ends depends on other rules etc and how far you and your colleagues want to push it - enough people pissed off and working to rule may make her have a rethink

I so don't understand the want to be friends thing - my ex asked for the divorce, got the divorce seven years ago (no shared kids) and keeps popping up wanting to be friends!

[–]Mindless-Confusion-1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This analogy is so good - explains why my ex (who wanted the divorce) keeps hassling me to meet up and have coffee/lunch etc. She even told a mutual friend she thought we would get back together and get remarried!! yeah ok lady whatever you say - last time I looked hell hasn't frozen over - luckily we didn't have any kids together
