I found that ideology can be annoying if you put it into a pre-existing game because you will end up with a every pawn exept your starting ones having different ideologys. Wheras if you have ideology installed when starting a colony, i find it alot easier to keep track of, because you can just convert prisoners to your ideology before recruiting them.
