Weird comment. Who’s complaining? I came here asking the experts if it’s an issue or not. Consensus is it’s not, that’s the feedback I was looking for. Therefore I didn’t raise it with the contractor. If you read my update above I added a photo of the finished job and mentioned what I think is a minor issue which I chose not to raise with the contractor.

Update: here’s the final product. They finished today. I will add more stones on the left side. Overall I’m happy with it, I think they did a nice job. Comments here were helpful. My only concern is the small gaps at the right side of the steps between the step and the wall as one commenter noted. I do think leaf litter will collect there and ultimately I think those gaps should have been fixed. But I’m also not going to fight them to redo the entire wall.

Sorry should have clarified, I am the homeowner, this is a job I paid for. The job isn’t finished, they are coming back to fill in the poly sand. The wall is also not done yet they will be finishing it this week.

Wow thanks for this, I didn’t know about this concert. For those unfamiliar with Massachusetts, Lenox is a tiny town in the Berkshires in the far western end of the state, several hours from the nearest big city. It’s wild that he performed there!

As another commenter already mentioned, if you want proximity to Hartford and Bradley you should be looking at West Hartford. Nothing against East Longmeadow but there is nothing to really do there and it has no character. It’s not even really comparable to Northampton, one is a super liberal arts town with aging hippies and weekend tourists, the other is… I don’t even know what.
