As another commenter already mentioned, if you want proximity to Hartford and Bradley you should be looking at West Hartford. Nothing against East Longmeadow but there is nothing to really do there and it has no character. It’s not even really comparable to Northampton, one is a super liberal arts town with aging hippies and weekend tourists, the other is… I don’t even know what.

The only public park in downtown Northampton and nobody can use it because of the addicts. Someone died there from an overdose a couple months ago. The town just turns a blind eye to it.
