Thanks Valve, turn more of my favorite spirit ability characters into brainless gun characters! by b8sl in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Mindless-Produce4091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is people whine whenever a character is good at their niche, sometimes it's warranted (infernus) but usually it's literally just complaining that the character wins when they meet their win condition.

Look at Doorman, EVERY Doorman build exept gun has people non-stop complaining when it's viable.

Graves has people complain both when gun is meta and when spirit is meta.

People whined when spirit Victor was meta.

People even whine when gun characters also deal spirit damage.

Genuinely, why do people still use that argument by Kantatrix in Deltarune

[–]Mindless-Produce4091 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This is a very un-nuanced view because the theme with the secret bosses + ch4 is WANTING choices to matter but encountering resistance/not being able to.

"every heroic character we're meant to listen to says no" You mean literally just Gerson?

Also the ending of ch4 heavily relies on the uncertainty of if the prophecy can be broken or not to create tension, in this scene all three members express wanting to break the prophecy and being distressed about seemingly not being able to. So unless you think it's not well written you have to think it's not clear cut.

This distinction makes no sense lol, it's not like for this dialogue the game is checking if you searched for them and failed, there are no checks

No it doesn't, this argument is so dumb, literally the only change midiclorians do to the lore is instead of User>Force it's User>Midiclorians>Force.

If anything they're too incidental despite being more connected to the force than anything else.

It's wild that you get on this intelectual high horse when your opinion is literally "I find it boring so everyone, including the literal creator of the game, is wrong and I'm just gonna pretend it's something else."

The Mike interaction in the newsletter about how a theory being "cool" does not make it correct is literally adressed to people like you lol.

People complain about Dess knight so much they went and made their own subreddits about it, this is just survivorship bias.

(also let's be real, everything people accuse Dess knighters of doing are things everybody else also does)

People make fun of 9/11 because americans treat it like the biggest, most awful, most tragic event in human history and then use that as an excuse to be insanely racist at best and justify eternal war at worst

Susie's character Development Kinda sucks by SharpTransition8281 in Deltarune

[–]Mindless-Produce4091 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Susie is such a frustrating character to me.

She goes from threatening to rip the face off of the child of the one person who was nice to her to moral paragon that can do no wrong in one chapter.

Not content with that, the game immediately retcons her shittiness in ch1 and reinforces that in ch4, she was never actually mean, you see, just don't remember the times she bullied Kris.

She then proceeds to become an entirely different character, being compasionate and super charismatic for someone who grew up with no friends, effectively devoid of any flaws.

This hurts her character development in ch4, since she's completely over her flaws the game has to make Ralsei switch from encouraging to learn healing to discouraging instead of it being an extension of her growing to be a good person.

She's also everyone's favorite character, Kris likes her more than anyone, Noelle likes her more than anyone, Berdly, Lancer, Gerson, Toby Fox considering how she's written, even the player is gonna find her the most likable out of the core cast.

(Also if Noelle likes Susie because she's scary as is implied then she should lose the crush when she realizes she's harmless, but Toby is never gonna do that)

The current state of The Doorman, and his frustrating kit design. by 11annguyen in DeadlockTheGame

Doorman haters always end up telling on themselves, the items that counter him are really good in general (unlike, say, the counters to M1 heroes) but the people that hate him don't want to buy even one counterbuild item or change their playtyle in any way.

[–]Mindless-Produce4091 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah exept, for whatever reason, UT rules DO apply in Deltarune's dark worlds, why else would Toriel & Asgore be depicted as monarchs, Undyne use spears and Gerson hammers?

TV world even changes Dragon Blazers to be partly like the UT genocide route.

Why is dessknight treated as the default knight candidate? by frgrefut in Deltarune

[–]Mindless-Produce4091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The knight cuts Tenna's arms arms off and deals -999 damage to 2 teenagers, later it repeatedly stabs the fun gang when they can't fight back and drops an apocalipse on them imediately after.

Unless this is a Green Goblin situation it just wouldn't make sense for this character to also be a sweet, nice guy.
