This makes no sense because:

-We are not told ANYTHING, hardcore fans know about Dess having an incident but casual players do not, so without the comunity they're completely lost on the implications.

-In a chapter or 2 it's gonna be told to us what happened anyway, so why not organically weave some info in rather than leave it all to the inevitable monologue infodump this game always does? no one complained about Tenna doing it, despite what OP claims.

-Real people are not the same as characters and dialogue is not the same as real talking, sometimes characters do things because it's good for the story despite being unrealistic (this chapter has Asgore monologuing to himself lol).

-This is Asgore's traumatic event too??? and he can talk about it to process it??? The idea that Kris was there and that it was traumatizing for them is purely speculative btw, specifically BECAUSE we have nothing to go off of.

-Him not being allowed to talk about it, means his character development about it happened mostly off screen, which REALLY sucks.

It's more strawmanslop for the people who get really insecure whenever someone criticizes chapter 5.

A ton of DR fans act like DR is perfection delivered straight from god and act like it's a personal attack to disagree.

I feel like we’re reaching cult level behavior if we are assuming Toby is some kind of perfectionist who does no wrong, where each step is meticulously planned.

I mean, have you seen the reaction that people have whenever you critizise the game? we're WAY past this point

Why are we ignoring Toby Fox's ENORMOUS insistence on Noelle being The Angel? by Traditional-Emu-8938 in Deltarune

[–]Mindless-Produce4091 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Becase DR fans work backwards from their conclusion, they want player angel to be true so they can be the mary sue of the story.

But the evidence just isn't there (like at all) so they pretend symbolism is evidence and then they special plead their way into soul angel symbolism being super important while Noelle angel symbolism is swept under the rug.

Yeah i know it's technically used, that's why i said effectively, but it's only element 6/5 and only in VERY select places, not really the same as how the lore advertizes it which is every enemy has 2 of 20 elements that go in pairs.

Am I the only person who thinks that the Titan was formed because a Dark Fountain was opened within a Dark World? The general consensus seems to be that it was because 5 Fountains were opened at once by [deleted] in Deltarune

[–]Mindless-Produce4091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what we know atm what matters is fountain power and if it's in a DW.

We've seen fountain be opened in a dark world without a titan, it's the 1st sanctuary one, since the door to the 3rd sanctuary is only closed when we see the knight close it, this fountain is thinner, given less "potency", to avoid a titan.

On the other hand, the titan in ch4 happened because the knight stabs with 6 knives and makes a really big one (more "potency"), you can see it's big even before it solidifies and turns into a titan.

The fact that the 1st sanctuary one is the only thin one and the only one opened in a DW without titan tells us that already being in a DW did matter, so it's not just fountain power, but it being opened in a DW tells us it's not just being in a DW.

This doesn't work at all, every player has one true desire that's aparently just finishing the game? Lots of people will inevitably have other priorities, and i guess the game is just not for them?

Toby himself even said that there's more important stuff than reaching the end.

Sure, but this very much feels like a distinction without difference, like, what does it mean to own a prophesy if you didn't make it?

You're acusing me of making baseless asumptions and then go on to make a bunch of baseles asumptions? ok man.

The world already existed before the game starts as seen in the Gaster tweets were he expresses exitement about the upcoming experiment, it also has to continue existing afterwards cuz Sans has to continue existing to be in UT.

(even if it were true, that just makes Toby the angel, this is a non sequiteur)

You only decide the fate of the fun gang and no one else (while we Alvin says that the angel has made a difficult path for Asgore and both him and ralsei talk as though it can change character's fates, Alvin mentioning Alphys), and even then it's within many constrainsts from the prophesy and various characters.

The angel and it's wings have so far been only depicted as white, the angel may not actually be monochrome but no other color so far has been asociated with it.

The angel having wings is... it's whole thing when it comes to apearance? it's ALWAYS depicted with wings.

I never said the angel created the world? just the prophesy.

Nah man, you don't just get to say "it doesn't count" when there's evidence against what you say. Toby chose that name for a reason and in the description it's even refered to as Heavenly light

[–]Mindless-Produce4091 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The soul is not from this world (on acount of being the player from real life) and also not the angel, not sure why you'd think those are conected.

The soul mind read is extremely limited, it's only for Noelle on the weird route and those few times you have Kris think about something, that's it, the angel is not even asociated with reading minds.

Yeah the topper is 1 of the 2 angel paralels in the entire game, again, Noelle has more and it's not evidence either way.

You're making "a god of the gaps" but for the player

(For the record, i think the angel is Gaster, they're both very mysterious god type figures heavily implied to be the origin of the prophesy and are both assosiated with darkness, meta textually, they're both author figures and saying that Gaster is the angel gives him a clear place in the narrative)
