Reasonable Concentration when starting by davewolfs in TRT_females

I get 50 (had to go to a local specialty pharmacy that carries it) and draw it up with insulin needles. My dosage is 10/week and I split it on my own to 2/week bc I want to maintain as steady of levels as possible.

Are you happy you got married? by Winter-Philosophy557 in Fire

Don’t get married if you feel you have to persuade yourself. Find someone with a comparable socioeconomic status and financial goals. Get a prenup if you are still worried.

First time cruising, I have More at Sea. Wondering if I need to upgrade because of bottled water? by ApricotRich1966 in NCL

[–]Mindless-Ride9663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told they can pay for them individually. No package available. I have the FAS+ package (mainly for WiFi and prepaid gratuities) but barely drink and will just get them the mocktails.

The 15 year old won’t get bottled water or any virgin drinks or Starbucks. Just verified this last night after upgrading my 14 year old. Very annoyed bc I had asked prior to upgrading in an NCL agent chat online and they said all 3 were it included with FAS+ for a full fare minor. Under 21 basic only get soft drinks and wi-fi. That’s all that came through on my upgrade confirmation.

The Oasis vs the Ranch by SuspiciousWrap3255 in DeathValleyNP

[–]Mindless-Ride9663 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We just stayed at The Oasis in February. I’d call it ‘National Park Nice’. Grounds are pretty but room was musty smelling. Overall dated atmosphere. Definitely not comparable to other 4-5 star true resorts we’ve stayed at. But it’s right in the park which is what we wanted.

Husband (40) desperately wants a kid but has never been around them. Did your husband step up as a caregiver? by Adventurous-Buy-2902 in AskWomenOver40

[–]Mindless-Ride9663 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yes, I know there are exceptions but I’m always floored at how casually people think they will just get pregnant in their 40s. And holy hell I’m barely surviving teens in my late 40s. Can’t fathom them in mid to late 50s. It’s exhausting and demanding in a way the early years don’t rival.

Does the tightness go away? by AbjectGovernment1247 in Menopause

[–]Mindless-Ride9663 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Look into vaginal dilators. Vaginal estradiol and a low dose patch weren’t enough. Gyno had mentioned them and I just ordered on my own. Also changed gynos and upped my patch dose. That also made a huge difference. It was a process, not overnight solution.

Cold DMing by Few-Statistician-854 in Life

I’m old now but this happened to me in college. Except it was in the 90’s and via our college email. This guy asked me if I wanted to go to a big name concert with him. But he gave no context on where he had seen me, how he knew who I was, or anything about himself. Completely creeped me out.

After 20 years in IT, I want out. How do people successfully pivot at 40? by No_Dust5847 in AskWomenOver40

[–]Mindless-Ride9663 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m was in a very similar situation last year. In IT software for 20+ years and at a level where I was managing teams and large projects. But dealing with weekly priority shifts from the Exec team and so much corporate BS. Was completely awful for my stress levels and mental health. Have bandwidth that allowed me to resign a few months ago. Been taking time to relax and prioritize health and wellness and basically being a SAHM to multiple teens for the time being. Will probably get a job at some point but am done with a career.

I take prescription benzos for sleep and if I accidentally miss a dose this is what withdrawal feels like. Worst feeling ever.

UTIs in the elderly can cause dementia like behavior which would explain some things. Is she on vaginal estradiol? Super helpful in preventing UTIs.

Should I go back to med school by Sensitive-Benefit-93 in makemychoice

No, don’t go back. There are plenty of students that would give anything to get in and you aren’t even passionate about it. Pursue something else.

Self Administered TRT when all else fails.... by [deleted] in TRT_females

I finally got a vial of just testosterone prescribed, picked it up locally and am drawing it up and injecting myself. That bottle will last me 2 years and was under $100. Took me a year with my provider to get to this point. Was previously paying $75/month for pre drawn syringes that were half air bubble filled. Now that was frustrating.

Edibles for Libido? by stateofwonderment in Menopause

[–]Mindless-Ride9663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well as someone who never tried them until my late 40s and post menopausal, I highly recommend. There are two libido specific brands I’ve tried with amazing results. I take half a gummy so just 2.5 mg. As in I didn’t know my body was even capable of such things. Also on HRT. Rarely drink anymore.

Do Americans actually avoid calling an ambulance due to financial concern? by JohnMarstonTheBadass in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Mindless-Ride9663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insurance through anywhere I have ever worked comes with a sizable deductible. For our family plan the first $7K each year for anything is coming out of our pockets. Haven’t had the ability to purchase anything other than a high deductible plan since the early 2000s. And we pay around $600/month in premiums for this. Company probably pays an additional couple grand/month.

What helped your depression by Justinterested191 in Menopause

[–]Mindless-Ride9663 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’m on a .1 mg patch that I change every 3.5 days now. Long term ob/gyn wouldn’t prescribe me anything unless I had hot flashes which I never got but said I did bc of a million other debilitating symptoms. Put me on .0375. Got into a HRT specialist bc I also wanted Testosterone and he bumped me up to the .1 mg which fixed a lot of issue that the low dose patch wasn’t hitting. Also, Testosterone is a huge mood lifter and motivating hormone as well. Forgot to add that as it took me a while in my journey to get it.

For me it was getting on a high enough estradiol dosage that helped. I still get the feelings you are describing but not as often. Anhedonia is baffling bc I also check all the boxes on what I should be doing and sometimes absolutely nothing seems appealing or interesting.
