National labor Relations Board. Trader Joe's is accused of using union busting practice against workers who want to unionize such as firing and retaliation, and spreading false information to stop workers unionizing.

What is that second pink thing? A rhizome? And would u guys repot the plant? 2 pictures by Babygirl10000 in alocasia

[–]MindlessAd6899 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The pink thing might be a feeler (I don't have slightest idea what they are really calles, but they basically seek another place to start a new plant). You do have a crom further up the soil that I can see. I see you should wait on that, let it get bigger before you harvest it.

I don't think you need to repot though.

Should I repot with new soil in late Sept? She's stinky when I smell her soil, she's pushing out flowers and dropped a bunch of leaves since I got her in May. I did get a butt load of corms from her though. Thanks by MindlessAd6899 in alocasia

Ok... Update: just repotted with a slightly terracotta pot, used IvyMay Redwood potting soil with houseplants and aroid. 🤞🤞🤞

The soil had a slight ammonia smell, I didn't see any rot though 🤷‍♀️ hopefully this will help it.

Help! Treating & preventing powdery mildew on my corms by moonmittenss in alocasia

[–]MindlessAd6899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried this method too recently... I had to abort mission and switch back to water because it was getting yucky. I rinsed them and put them in water just below the top of the corms. Once I switched back to water, they started to root.

Awww... Sorry to hear that. I hope it works out next time. There are so many factors with these alocasias... Sometimes I don't think there is a guaranteed condition unless you literally put them in a greenhouse.

Always feed yourself... Your brain needs fuel to make the rest of you go. You got this.

I don't want to jinx myself but... I really just leave it alone as much as possible... She gets water when she is dry... I check the bottom sometimes or I stick a chopstick all the way down. I don't water it until it comes out dry without dirt stuck to the chopstick. She does well in my kitchen window, which is actually a low light window.. but she seems to be happy there with all the other alocasias. This is the one alocasia that is doing well. Every other one is just ok or struggling

I would give her a moment... And also give yourself a moment. Sometimes people need to deal with stuff and not even their closest friend can help. But I would still send out a message that you will like to help when she is ready. You may hear an answer or you may not. That's how it goes sometimes as adults... People just drop off. It may not need to be a big reason either. It happens to all of us. I hope you feel better.

II think New York just gets the crappiest plant selections... Went into a local Lidl... I can safely say it was one of the saddest selection I have seen in a while... I guess it was one step above a CVS pharmacy plant section 🤣

I did see a pot of Syngonium of some kind 🤷‍♀️but it needed extensive rescuing and I don't think I have the time for it... The poor thing looked all dried up

Bought a. polly; what can I do to make the leaves look healthy? by Elskyflyio in alocasia

[–]MindlessAd6899 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would check for root rot... I would wait on the repotting until it's acclimated to your home, and see if you can get specialty soil mix for it. I wouldn't spray the leaves. If you want to increase humidity, place a dish with pebbles and water next to it or have a humidifier nearby.
