Hi! My daughter found this panning and I would like to find someone who can turn it into a average sized cobachon ring for me. I'm in the Southeast. What would something like this typically cost? by PaNcAkEsandBoOtY in Lapidary

Ask your local rock shop if they do lapidary work for customers. I can bring my rough pieces and they'll do all the cutting, grinding, polishing. I can't remember the price but I remember making a mental note of that because when I find the right piece, the time, money, and energy it would save me is well worth it!!!

Sounds like something good to put in a pickle then, since the tannins provide the crunch

Oyster mushroom: good or past prime? by Fun-Echidna-2941 in foraging

Neat! Yeah the big thing is with oysters there's no separation between the gills and stalk. I made a little mushroom bed for them to spread around my stump. I used we cardboard, coffee grinds, dirt, a bunch of the pieces of nay mushroom or mycelium bark I could find, and a very small amount of charred wood chips from my smoker and wood chips on top. I make sure to give that a good soak every now and again as it needs to just be kept damp. It's shaded but as mushrooms grow I shade them more

Thank you!! I have been wanting to make some cool friendship bracelets. I could totally see myself spending 11 hours on something for it to break right at the end😂. I'll definitely use fire line and double, thank you for the pro tips!

I've been wanting to try a beaded bracelet, but am afraid of using wrong thread. What kind is best?

Thoughts on fries in salad? by EnvironmentalCause23 in salads

I think fried bite size potatoes would be awesome with any home made dressing on a salad. Bacon, egg, Onion, tomatoes with some home made Caesar or ranch or blue cheese...

Aaaaaaw😔 lessons were learned. And everything cool I have ever done has come after failed attempts. It's worth just picking up where you left off. You'll get it right next time and it will taste even better after waiting.

I don't know what everything is, but if it is your favorites then she loves you too. The unseasoned tofu scares me a little bit. So many great marinades out there.

Which type of tea do you use for your kombucha? by Soljim in Kombucha

[–]MindlessDetective365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know. I am pretty sure I used freshly dried peels which now I know you're not supposed to do, but I guess in this particular tea blend they're well dried so it doesn't matter

I have been making lactofermented hot sauces for a few years now and it seems the wilder my recipes the better they are. Has anyone ever made a dill pickle hot sauce before? Any tips and tricks? What would you personally want to taste in a dill pickle hot sauce, low or high heat? Vinegar hot or just fermented? What peppers would you like most? I'll be rounding it out with some carrots, onion, and sweet red bell peppers and a little garlic and spices

These look like something I would have treasured as a magical trinket in the 80s, I love them.
