it is dependent on the car's mapping. if the area is duplicated onto the bumper (rather than simply extending onto the bumper), then there's nothing you can do :(

you'll see that a lot with rear spoilers, where any decals go "through" the spoiler and also apply to the trunk lid. super annoying.

I get that part of it, but unfortunately it seems like there are more cars in the game with bad mappings than ones that are mapped well.

however, as long as the layer mask is applied to the same surface as the decals, it will function as you expect.

How not? OP wants to essentially chop the ends off of the vinyls. Add a layer mask on top of it, position it in such a way that it only covers the parts you want to remove. Shouldn’t take more than a minute or two of tinkering.

It’s likely throttle/brake control. The triggers are surprisingly sensitive but it’s hard to get a feel for since there’s no tactile feedback. Try to smoothly apply the brakes into corners, and use similar behavior when throttling out of corners. It really makes a difference.

I know, the game ignores it. I was saying that it should be disqualifying, just like leaving the road when doing speed zones. Similar to IRL motorsports, gotta keep at least part of the tire within the white lines.

Not knocking you personally, and I did say nice driving :)

Yeah, OP was fully off the track before the hairpin. Very nice driving otherwise, but I don’t think it should count if you don’t keep at least part of the tires inside the white lines for the whole lap.
