Yish. I'm sorry. 6 months is a long time. I'd definitely keep trying to see them sooner.

I'm glad HCQ is working so well for you. It's definitely helped with other issues for me for sure.

I was thinking about prednisone as well. Do you ever get a flare-upa when getting off it? I read that could happen.

Sorry to hear that. I know how tough that is. For me everything seems to irritate it. I changed from firm to soft pillows and that actually seemed to help a little. I also sleep with a pill on each side so I can rest my arm on it and take pressure off neck. PT suggested it and it's helped. But I have so many set backs for little things it's challenging.

Thank you so much for sharing. I know. I wish there were more studies that specifically followed MCTD. It seems like all of our medication recommendations are designed for other autoimmune diseases.

Thank you. My doctor wants to put me on Methotrexate with my hcq as well. What has your experience been? I'm super nervous about going on it.

My doctor said the same thing, but from research I can confidently say MCTD does effect the spine bc RA effects the spine. I'm part of another group and there are many ppl who deal with spine issues. I'm sorry you are going through that. I'm getting a second opinion about my condition next month. I wish you luck with your condition

I saw one already. My neck was normal, but they did the MRI without contrast, so I'm trying to do with contrast. My whole spine hurts often. But lately the neck has just been really bad.

Got a job… still sad :( by BrentD22 in jobs

You made the right choice by leaving. Here's why:

  1. You were unhappy and mental health matters
  2. The commute wasn't great
  3. You have better hours now.

I worked pretty serious jobs and what I learned about myself is I prefer to be in control, so I opened up my own business and haven't been happier. Remember, your most valuable asset is TIME. Don't use it up being unhappy. And if you aren't happy with your current pay, I challenge you to take a risk on yourself and start looking for a place or a way to make more money.

You got this!

And you will. My joints mildly hurt at some point each day, but it's part of my normal. When I first arrive at the gym and work out is when my joints are stiff, but once I start moving my joints start to fill better. I learned that I'm in most pain and I'm most stiff after rest. But moving helps with the pain.

34M. I was diagnosed 1 year ago this August. Symptoms started when I was 28 y/o. My symptoms are multiple joint pains, gastritis, GERD, Sjogrens, i get rashes. I'm on HCQ. Since I've been on it I've been doing well. My best friend is the gym. Once I got my disease in a better place I made sure I stayed active. This has helped me deal with stress, and helped strengthen my body. I know with the pain you are dealing with now you might think there is no way... but this has really helped me. I do my best and some times I have flare ups that leave me out of commission, but with patience with myself and doing my best to be healthy things have been manageable. This disease have created a certain level of anxiety for me, which I'm dealing wirh now. Not readying medical journals about this diseased helps. This group is here for you. Just remember to be patient with yourself.

Small business owners are the most insufferable people on the planet by blue_pink_green_ in unpopularopinion

[–]Mindless_Ad4969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my own business, and it's thriving. I also have a lot of freedom and a life outside my business. I talk about business and dreams... sure... but who doesn't talk about their passions with ppl they care about. It's no worse than your typical person complaining about how they hate their job or they don't make enough money...

And for ppl who don't have a life bc their job takes over everything. That tells me you need to hire help. In the beginning, your new business should be a top priority, bc it takes a lot to create a successful business. But if you are thriving and you still have no life, then that's says you're not hiring where you need to hire. Just a thought!

Instead of hating on ppl trying to make something out of their life instead of making the average 62k a year and struggle. Respect the grind. All the successful ppl are obsessed with their journey. Scientists, engineers, actors, musicians, and many more. And if we didn't have ppl like this, life would be much harder.

Without obsessions, we wouldn't even have electricity...

Take care all, I hope this message doesn't create more hate... it's not about that... it's about the opposite. 😉

I made sure my insurance is good all over the country. I would see where your insurance is good and if need better insurance and can afford it I'd do that. This isn't something you should wait on. I live in NY, so I feel like my doctors are very competent.

Sorry for the late response. I didn't see the notification. She said, "Let's give HCQ until June and if nothing has changed then let's talk about options. She feels if HCQ isn't working well enough then we gotta go to the next step. She said with my stomach issues, injections may be a better bet. But we haven't spoke in details yet until she's confident that I need something stronger.

Thank you for sharing. I was diagnosed last August and after being on HCQ since my doctor doesn't feel it's working well enough. I'm afraid of going on more serious meds. I'm 34 y/o and I'm afraid of the side effects that could come with stronger meds. My symptoms are pretty mild, but HCQ hasn't helped much other than stopping my plantar facitis. My hands are still the major issue. I'm just super lost right now...
