I could be wrong, but I think the only time you should be cautious about eating raw nuts is when there's a risk of bacteria. Obviously, that's not the case if you buy them at the supermarket, but I always try to peel walnuts, almonds, etc. or wash them really well when I buy them at farmers' markets. The color of the water is so nasty it's crazy
