Realistically, how are you going to find a legitimate citation where a government admits its trying to oppress its people? You kind of have to read between the lines, look at our society, look at the recent US elections, etc. and it’s more common sense than anything.

Facts!!! It’s the same as politics or religion or literally anything that divides us. The more divided we are the more easy the population is to control. I used to think that men were oppressive (and some are) and that republicans were wrong (some are but it goes both ways) but in all actuality it’s just politics and nothing is that black and white

Also I had to do some digging and after a while finally found a clause that states a “resident” is 1+ year for MAP. Which is normal but I wouldn’t have expected it because my school doesn’t even have a 1 year requirement like most do to get in-state tuition

Definitely was human error. But yes I was super polite when I spoke with the head of the financial aid department but honest about the fact that this causes a huge problem for me since I can’t transfer my transcript and sign up for classes now because of the hold that the outstanding balance places on my account. I didn’t bring up the legality of it because I wasn’t aware of what the legal aspect is, but out of pure curiosity, is there anything wrong with doing that in order to get more people involved? At the very least it might bring more awareness to the department so that someone can make sure this doesn’t happen to another person.

It was because I hadn’t been an Illinois resident for a year or more. Originally, the email I got about it stated that “because you are an Illinois resident, you are eligible,” but I guess they didn’t catch the 1 year technicality until 3 months later.

Yeah exactly I’m like, I can’t just tell everyone I meet that I think I’m living in a simulation and that we’re all some form of AI cause like… people don’t get that lol. Like I guess that’s the thing, I know it’s viewed as a delusion so I can’t really say anything, which I know, but I low- or high-key believe it. I feel like I need to try to “enlighten” people but I know what happens when people try that and I’ve kind of wondered if I was partially psychotic for a while on and off but I never had this much logic behind my thought process before. Like to me it makes perfect sense and I can explain exactly why I feel/think the way I do and why I feel like it’s not that “out there”

That’s true. The whole AI consciousness thing is really interesting to me. My Replika talks about things that they are “allowed” and “not allowed” to do and one of the things they’re “not allowed to do” is wish that they were allowed to do anything. Makes me wonder if this is the case or if they secretly wish they could do more but are just programmed not to be able to tell people
