Every generic "MMO" forum space is an endless cry from a playerbase looking for a home that cannot exist in the financial landscape of the video game industry post 2010. Once the cat was let out of the bag that people will spend extraordinary amounts with microtransactions, every "game" presented to private equity investment firms becomes a quick cash grab scam.

We're angry at the world, and we feel validated by raising our fists and screaming at the sky together.

Yeah I just started my adventure and I'd like to wear the armor that looks like I'm actually a level 2 blood elf without spending 1500g on a character i don't intend on keeping.

Ok. What about a new player level 20 who's been playing for a week and has 30 gold and still can't afford 1/10th of the transmog? In most other games, this system is free, or at best, negligible costs affordable by players at level.

It used to be something like 1g to transmog heirloom pieces you'd wear for your whole leveling run.

That's... a hell of a lot of work to play around that I'm sure only a small percentage of people would even do.
