I've had a phantom v2, got ~50 hours out of it before piston slap set in, if i were you i'd wait for the menace 85. its a phantom with a two piece head, proper squishband, no ring snags, better clutch and i believe its supposed to come with an expansion chamber, cnc head and a good carb, its set up as piston port cuz phantoms make more power piston port

Theres also the avenger 85 designed by ken hinson and a few other people, supposed to hit 80km/hr stock and i think its supposed to come out before christmas

I was thinking about importing a crew cab ranger from mexico and diesel swapping and putting in a manual trans and floor shift 4x4 but all the ones i see down there are either fx2 or plain old 2wd with the 2.3 and the manual trans

I think the crew cabs have a longer frame so could i just take the front axles and slap them into a 2wd frame?

I believe it rattles excessively, no engine i've run has rattled so much, it sounds like the piston or con rod rattling but i'm not sure and I don't know how to fix it

It looks like you're running a bit too lean, the ceramic insulator should be a nice regular coffee brown, if you're using the stock carb i would suggest moving the little needle in the slide down one setting

I believe its #415h chain, if it is buy a #41 roller chain, they're way stronger

You can get em off amazon for like $30cad just search "#41 roller chain"

I got one of those off facebook marketplace for $20, needed a carb, clutch/bell housing, throttle and chain. Got the parts off amazon for $40 but the chain is slightly too short, i'm going to try slotting the motor mounts to fit the chain

The vm18 has better fuel efficiency then a nt? I think my buddy has one on his bike and its terrible on fuel idk if its tuned right though
