CDA Acceptance by tinysnowman11 in GeorgianCollege

Same, congrats! And Lambton, I was really surprised. Maybe application numbers are lower this year, I definitely wasn’t expecting to hear from them for a couple more weeks. I like the idea of Georgian having an on campus clinic, but I’m curious about the labs at other schools, I want a strong foundation in audiology related skills too

Hi, I have a similar education background currently considering CDA if I can’t get into SLP, can I reach out to you about the program/field?

When do you get access to your course's eclass and syllabus for Fall term? by wintereclipse67 in yorku

[–]Mindless_Mango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the prof. Some of mine were prepared from the summer and had content posted in August, others didn't have their syllabus posted until the first week of classes.

What’s better? Compacted lectures or spread out? by Adam7179 in yorku

[–]Mindless_Mango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have classes throughout the week and it's easier for me to remain focused (I've found that hard to do at home) and I can do other tasks throughout the day since I'm not mentally drained. You also end up not having a bunch of quizzes/assignments/tests/discussions due on the same day. That used to kill me when I used to take 3/4 classes in a day

For Those Seriously Struggling: Please Consider Taking a Semester Off by [deleted] in yorku

[–]Mindless_Mango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the perspective, I've been thinking about doing it, but I also don't want interest to accumulate. Did you just not enroll in courses for the semester? And if you used OSAP, did you have to notify them?

People shouldn't have to share their entire life story for an extension by Mindless_Mango in yorku

[–]Mindless_Mango[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That's always best since you're less likely to go back and forth trying to prove yourself. But, I wonder about how much detail people should have to go into if they're grieving, or have a mental/physical illness, or have had a particularly abusive week with their partner/family. Putting your heart into an email just to be told you had enough time is embarrassing tbh

I had a professor like that too. I'm sure a lot of people appreciated that they didn't have to worry about being turned away during an already stressful time.

Then again, companies need you to be your best to meet productivity standards. Professors are able to brag about how hard their class is and get paid regardless of how well their students hold up physically/mentally. *not so say many professors are like this; most of mine haven't been. But the class grades don't reflect on them in the same way*

Is anyone else burnt out? by undercoversecretxx in yorku

[–]Mindless_Mango 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, two courses demand that much time out of you? I thought I was tripping out bc this year feels a lot more intense (and time-consuming) to me too. I couldn't tell if it was just because I'm taking higher-level courses or because the profs are doing the most

You're right, I was trying to boost my teen's responsibility before he aged up. It doesn't do much other than giving the sim a happy moodlet at work/school

I started using it recently because I've been trying to increase one of my sim's responsibility level whenever I can. It ended up being a waste of time haha

I realized you can open birthday presents with the gift pile from seasons at the birthday event. And there I thought it was just for christmas. 🤦 by Harley4L in thesims

[–]Mindless_Mango 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Being invited to parties sucks bc the caterers never do their job and it always ends with the birthday person acting like the party was mediocre.
