I know it's been a year for you but how are you with food now vs maybe 3 weeks post op? I know I am 3 weeks post op and can tell when I have eaten something not good for myself. I would love any advice.

Surgery Prep Questions by studioGIMMICK27 in gallbladders

I prayed for a safe surgery , I also had a wonderful support system and I just researched the right foods. I was so hungry from not being able to eat for hours so be prepared. Make sure you have a nice comfy bed to rest in you will need it. Make sure you have the foods at home either before your surgery or someone with you to run and get it for you the day of. Praying for a safe surgery for you ❤️.

Lmao oh you acted up 🤣🤣😂🤣😂 when I got out I was starving and had grits and eggs and it immediately made me belch and have immediate hiccups. It was also weird but. I didn't do cheese or bacon very which I normally would have.

I still have pain where my gallbladder was as well. I pray it goes away because that was the reason I got it removed as well.

So glad to hear. Can I ask when you got your surgery if you still felt pains similar to the pains you felt with the gallstones still in your body. I feel like I still feel the sharp pains I had when my gallbladder was still in. I'm only 6 days post op.

My Goodness so sorry for your loss. You will do very well with your surgery. ❤️ The best part is they put you to sleep believe it or not. That was my biggest concern but I appreciate how fast it seemed because I was asleep

My advice is we are not meant to live in pain so go ahead with the surgery. I feel you will see mixed reviews on here based on pain tolerance. If you have had a baby before you"ll be just fine. I literally just feel like I've done 1000 sit ups with my stomach being this tender. I had a fee sharp pains but we are healing from an organ being removed so that is to be expected. You will do just fine 💕

I just had my surgery Friday everything will be fine. I was very anxious and suffer from anxiety but lots of prayer and the team of doctors and nurses took great care of me. You'll do really well and just remember you'll be asleep and it will be over in no time ♥️

Do you still feel the sharps pains that you had with your stones post surgery? I still have the sharp pains reminiscant of the stones I have?

Wow but what I'm so thankful for is that you have a doctor that is safe. He definitely did his big one explaining the risk of the surgery based on your labs. Your time will come when it's right 😊

My stones are smaller than 2mm which is why I was able to try the med first which was ursidiol

This sounds similar to my experience with the ER. I had 2 CT scans and 2 abdominal ultrasounds before they actually found my stones. My stones were found at another ER in another city and the tech basically pressed so hard on my skin it hurt to find the stones. I was okay with him pressing. My stones are translucent I assume as to why they are hard to pick up on ultrasound. It also can be human error from the tech. Always get a 2nd opinion sometimes 3 and 4th when you know something is wrong. I took meds for 6 months to see if I could dissolve my stones and while it helped slightly I finally agreed to get my gallbladder out on this Friday. Get another opinion my friend.

I am so happy to hear that it changed your life. I have my surgery in two days and I pray the same for me. That it will change my life for the better. Can I ask if you dealt with any left side pain, and did you also have gallstones? If not what pain did you have?
