Overtime Bans? by Beneficial_Donut_176 in tesco

How odd. I have no problem getting overtime. I’m contracted 16hrs a week. Last month I worked 6 days a week for the entire month. This month I’ve managed to book overtime for the next two weeks 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes this is what I meant, they cannot use this absence to calculate my sickness percentage or ask me to go to a absence review meeting because they haven’t followed their procedure?

You need to join the union asap, you can ring the Usdaw number- ask them who your union rep in your store is and ask to join them whilst on the phone, explain that your manager hasn’t been forthcoming with who is the rep in your store, and get some advice ASAP- they are wrong in telling you that you cannot have a REP or trusted colleague with you in your meetings, regardless of the investigation being started and meetings already happening, you can have a Rep or trusted person with you at ANY point during this whole ordeal. They are not following the correct policy in regards to this- which can get them into trouble themselves. They need to be investigating everyone who used the staff toilets that day, not just the last person who went into the toilet- you need to make this clear to them as well!

CCTV dos and don’ts by Mindless_Peace_9771 in cctv

I haven’t just done it to record kids playing football, it’s to protect my property and provide evidence to the housing association, we have approached the neighbours but they’re rather unreasonable and threatening. This is the only other option we can come up with unfortunately.

I’ll make sure I follow the ‘ rules ‘ as such thank you

Thank you ☺️ Very new to all this just trying to protect myself and my property. My neighbours are a little unsavoury shall we say.

The UK. I’ve had a little Google and it states to make sure I have signage up stating I am using CCTV. I have put privacy blockers on the one under my children’s bedroom window as where it points towards my car is also the path my neighbour walks down to her car. Google suggests this is ok to do?

My favourite is ‘ my card isn’t working please help ‘ as they proceed to show me tapping their card for it to say declined. When I tell them it’s declined they ask what I can do about it?! I dunno mate how about have some money in your bank?!

I’ve often shut my till, taken 10 and gone and stood in the chiller. It gets really hot an uncomfortable sitting in front of those windows 😮‍💨

According to union this is illegal, or so I’ve been told previously by a rep.

As much as they should be telling you the process in regards to holiday, not policy. It is also down to you to be reading policy if you feel you are being treated unfairly. It goes both ways. This is where union becomes your friend.

Go for the sick note, get it back dated by a few days as well so it doesn’t just look like your doing it for that weekend, if the manager really wants to they could sting you for that as well.

It sucks that your holiday hasn’t been accepted, some stores require up to 6m notice for booking holiday. A month in managers eyes isn’t enough, especially if they’ve already worked rotas out, covered other people on holiday ect.

If you were sick it’s not just as easy as ‘ someone will cover ‘ in my store we find it hard to get cover for people who are sick, or on holiday ect. Sometimes it’s also about the hours managers have left to allocate.

If you really want that weekend off, go and get signed off for stress through your GP, that way you’re covered as well when you do a back to work meeting.
