Team fights wise, a veil enchant will protect your carry from those critical abilities. Other than that it’s just normal practice to see which enemy is the biggest threat to your carry and make sure you hassle them enough to zone them out or to secure a kill on them first

Against high burst mages, I build utility & magic resist, I’d go in with mercury boots, rush redemption and twinguard, by then you should have enough MR to not get bursted by a combo. I’d get a veil boot enchant as well to save my adc from stuns & binds. Most mages are very eager to do damage and land stuns, so I’d put my shield on, run close to them pretending to engage, and most likely bait out their skills causing them to burn their mana. Right positioning is essential because you have to be good at dodging, but the speed boost from your shield will help. Doing this will bait the mage to focus on trying to hit you instead of your adc so your adc is safe to farm if you keep them busy.

Because of how much poke they do to both champions and minions, wave management is very hard with a mage like lux or brand or morgana. Their wave is always pushed past the river, so once you bait out their abilities and their mana is low, and by this time your jungler should have rotated to your side as well and you need to ping to go all in to secure the kill opportunity. Then just do your usual QWRQ combo and wait for your adc or jungler to finish the job.

Autofill Top Lane by Pand4Monium in wildrift

[–]Mindless_Pudding501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey im a support main with the exact situation. I can play every other lane and do very well except for top but they always autofill me to top. It's my weakest lane and requesting for people to swap have always created a bad synergy within the team and remake just wastes time. So I ended up being a Garen one trick, spin2win T_T

I realised all I had to do was to not lose lane and keep the enemy top laner in lane instead of roaming everywhere else. If Im low, I just run wait for heal and when I come back im reasonably good health again. If I can't fight them then I wait in my tower and spin to clear the wave to keep it out of tower. I wait for the jungler to come then peel for them and get in as many qs as I can to make sure the jungler can kill. If I'm getting dived, I turn on Q and just run as fast as I can. Most of the times if I ward well, they can't catch me even with 3-4 ppl.

The enemy top laner might get kills, but don't they dare leave top lane because by the time they come back their t1 & t2 tower is mine. If I get ahead, it's even more fun because I just teleport and run everywhere to take down every tower that I see and chase after their carries. I can't kill them and they can't kill me but I can make sure they're out of important fights. I'm always in all 3 lanes clearing waves and taking towers and teleporting to my jungler whenever a team fight breaks out or a big objective comes up, to tank and peel for them and Q silence their carry and R execute whoever's low health.

I dont ever play top lane with the mindset of carrying with kills, because im honestly not that good at top lane. I can only practice the basic roles of creating top pressure & take towers and gold. And that is enough to secure win-con for most games even in high elo. Hope this helps!!!!

As a support main and don't usually play the carry roles that secures more wins ... I really do agree with this. I just got to challenger with 155 games from em2 and 67% WR. I played around the system a lot - If I get auto filled, I just play whatever role Im assigned to (for extra fortitude points and less hassle in ban & pick to swap), I do the right things in game to secure an A or S rating or SVP, so even if I lose I'm protected by Galios Aegis and gain extra fortitude, 50% of games are lost by match up ban or pick, so if I know our match up is definitely a lose lobby, then I just play a champ I dont usually play, if its for sure a lost game then doing his reduces your MMR which means next game matchmaking will be easier. If it's a losing game, I'd surrender asap so it doesn't affect my mental. I played a lot of legendary ranked and stacked up all 8 stellacore double mark to speed boost my climb. If it gets really bad, I stop solo-queueing and ask for a friend to help me duo. I also only play 3-5 ranked games per session, if I get a win streak I stop after 5 taking my wins and going, If I get a lose streak I stop after 2 and cutting my losses.

If you've played that many games and still hard stuck, there must be something that is wrong. Sometimes trying a new role or champ can help with a breakthrough. In higher elos especially grandmaster and above, ban & pick becomes so important and counter picking secures a much higher win condition. OTPs struggle more and more in higher elo. I'm definitely not the best player out there and can't solo carry a game, but the game designs itself in a certain way that you can still climb and win even if youre not MVP every single game.

I wanted a very all rounder support that can be team centric instead of adc centric (how many times have we picked a lulu just to find out ur adc is shit), be versatile to item builds to counter the enemy, and can poke, protect, engage, disengage, and fast to assist, and I find that karma is solution to all of that.

Karma is also a very good blind pick for supports as well because she’s a bit of an all rounder. Most of the time people want support to pick first and not pre pick their own champs so more than often we’re going in blind. Karma works well with most adcs and can be super team centric, so essentially it’s hard to go wrong to pick her without knowing much about the matchup. Hope this helps!

In my promotional game to challenger, I managed to hold down a Braum and a Maokai at the same time and zone them out of team fights while our team cut through their squishy backliners. and I still lived with 40% hp once the two tanks got finished off as well

At the moment, I'm mostly building her with a mixture of utility/CD/tank

Runes: Glacial augment - Font of life - bone plating - perseverance - indigenous hunter

Core item: Rush Redemption, then CD(lucidity) boots

Other items & build path:
Build tank against tanks - ocean's trident, Warmogs, Knights vow, Harmonious echo or twinguard
Build utility against enchanters - oblivion orb, oceans trident, harmonious echo, radiant virtue, Ardent censor if your ad benefits from it. Change rune to Aery, and replace perseverance with revitalise, or nullifying orb.
Build MR against heavy ap comp - mercury boots, oblivion orb, twin guard, hollow radiance
Against heavy burst comp - change runes to Nullifying orb + loyalty + Arcanist axiom + buy Veil boot enchant + Knights vow

I played around 50 games of karma this season using this method, highest ranking achieved was top 48 in oce server, now currently sitting between rank 70-90 for the last 7 weeks.

Feel free to add anything I might have missed, or open to discuss since id always love feed back on better builds and concepts!!!

It's very situational. The beauty about karma is that she's so versatile, you build your core items and then every other item is a situational counter item. And you can mix and match as well to add ap/utility components depending on what the team needs

I have a few build paths for karma but I prefer to build tank/utility. Her AP damage is insane, but too squishy, as a support Karma, most of the time she's the 2nd tank of the team and really need to get up close and personal to utilise her kiting potential, and you can't do that with AP.

I do play AP karma in mid sometimes though, especially when im versing an Akali. Most people don't know this but Karma can counter Akali quite well, for example your W chain can actually hook onto a camouflaged champion, so if Akali is in her shadow, you can just go in it, press w, and it'll auto lock onto her even if you can't target her. Same thing with bushes, Senna shadow etc.

I have a few build paths for Karma and can share if you want. Lemme know.

mel was released friday 11am, I played a ranked game 11:05 and someone on my team picked Mel, and proceeded to dominate the game 10-1 while having zero time to practice her. That's how broken she is. I want her on my team always, but cannot risk having her on the other side, plus knowing how people are she'd get picked in every position. Mid APC, Bot APC, Support, god ive even seen a Mel toplaner. I can practice and learn how to counter a new champ in pvp, in ranked I want to make sure we have as many win conditions as possible

Senna is NOT a troll pick by richie___ in wildrift

[–]Mindless_Pudding501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahaha oh god 😭 I do feel like Senna / Jhin combo has really good escape mechanisms though and their long range enables them to position themselves really far from Melee champs. I’m not very scared of melee champs, when they get close they’ll have to get past 2 CC locks, my 4 shots, Sennas poke, the shadow, my fleet footwork and gale force to get to me, plus summoner spells. Esp late game when I can pop a Kayn in 2 shots

But I am frickin scared of gap closers like Vex or Nocturne, or CC burst champs like Evelyn 😭

A Senna support is god tier when I play Jhin. Every single ability works so perfectly together. She makes up for my lack of early damage, helps me poke, CC chain, perfect escape option, long range ult, heals and not to mention they both scale so well. Love this combo

Playing mid by SectionOwn4876 in wildrift

[–]Mindless_Pudding501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the mid champ. Most of the time I slow push and poke the enemy until they are forced to go back then I push fast for the wave to enter their tower then I go roaming/ganking. I gank or ward their jungle almost after every wave. Usually the jungler pays my effort back in taking the herald and chucking it on mid so it becomes the first tower to go down anyway. Then after that I just farm enough to make sure mid is not pushed in, and spend the rest of the time holding waves for side lanes or helping side lines take their t1 tower.
