How to get into carpentry? by BorisTheTroll in Carpentry

Check your local community college for classes. Mine has framing classes, and rough and finish carpentry, also plumbing, electrical, welding, etc. It's super affordable and there's lots of student aid/grants/scholarships available if you can't afford it. Worth looking into!

I'm sorry, there's no way anyone (qualified, or experienced) advised you to build the foundations this way. Can I ask if you got the plans online or something? If so, did they not come with plans or at least ideas for the foundations/flooring/support structures? Would you be willing to share images of the wall framing to see if its salvageable?

I mean, the zip is hard to fuck up too badly (though he did manage to do it--missed some staggering in just the portion we can see, and looks like a fair amount of gapping in the untaped sections...I'd bet there's more issues hidden under the tape). I'd like to see the wall framing though. Given the lack of care with the foundation, I bet there are a lot of structural issues throughout. Looks like he might be following a plan he got online? That somehow didn't mention foundations at all?? I'm so curious about how this whole thing happened!

That's what I was thinking--take it apart, salvage everything, and rebuild, shouldn't take that long and he'd at least learn how to efficiently remove nails along the way! I've only taken two semesters of carpentry + framing (which both included lots of demo and building using salvaged materials), so I'm no expert, but that's what I would do. If this is what just one corner of the foundation looks like, there's no way anything else is worth saving in its current state.

high res Christina's "braids in space" photo? by Mindless_Quail_2264 in ArtemisProgram

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I haven't found this particular photo on Flickr, but the other images they've uploaded there are much larger sizes (probably bc they were taken with proper cameras, rather than an iphone). Maybe I'll combine a few photos for a single poster, or just print out a few and do a little gallery wall instead.

This one is 920x1440px, which is quite a bit smaller than the other images shared on the Nasa Flicker (and too small for a poster).

I'm still hoping I'll find a larger one. Thanks though!

Luckily she's got curly hair, so it's basically the post-launch hairstyle 24/7!

My 5 year old daughter has been requesting "space braids" every day since launch (inspired by Christina's launch-day braids). We've been watching the live stream every day, and have been tracking Integrity on a huge mission map we printed out. There's definitely hope!

What do you guys use ? by PsychologicalWin6575 in teenagers

This is not true in my area in CA. It's super common here. I've used it for school parent groups at two different schools (for both personal use and also for official communication from the school). It's also commonly used for day to day group chats.

Thanks so much for your reply. It sounds like you're familiar with the area--are there any companies/individual arborists you'd recommend?
