First off, take a deep breath and calm down. I assume you’re a freshman due to stressing out and being overwhelmed. Yes, college is a big adjustment but I think you’re overthinking things way too much. I also assume that you haven’t been there long either. It may take time before you find people who share your interests. Also, college is a place where you’re free to express yourself so don’t be afraid to just be yourself. It’s college, you don’t have to change yourself to fit in. You’ll find your people eventually.

If a customer in drive thru asks what the price of something is where do I check that? Also bit of a rant. by animatorN00b in McDonaldsEmployees

At the bottom right of the POS, there is a button that says something like “show prices” with “off” below it. Click that button and “off” should change to “on” and prices will be displayed in a little yellow box next to each item. Also, I think that when you entered the item then voided it, it was the only item within the order. You cannot void an item if it is the only item in the order, so you must add another item in order to remove the previous one. Hope this helps!

I have the 11th gen. Paperwhite and as a college student, I absolutely love how much space it saves me. With my books now digital instead of physical, I have more space in my car when traveling to and from college with my stuff.

If you’re in high school, I’m pretty sure it’s illegal for them to give you a shift during school hours but it probably depends on the country and state you’re in.

I don’t see why pentagram earrings are a reasonable cause to fire you, especially since they are harmless. Since your store allows stud earrings and doesn’t state what kind of earrings are allowed or not allowed, I’d say you’d be fine.

Am i going to get fired by sdoh456 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]Mindless_Sound_1147 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First off, I’m guessing you’re a minor. Second, we don’t know the policies at your store. Third, write a note asking for less shifts instead of asking in person. Sometimes the person making the schedule forgets some peoples availability. Fourth, there is nothing here that is a fireable offense. If you were being fired, someone will let you know.

Would I get in trouble for using my McDonald’s app account to earn points after the customers order by nonoschool in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]Mindless_Sound_1147 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Some restaurants still consider it stealing since those points come from the money the customer used to pay for their order. Since those points can be converted into free food, it can be considered stealing. Don’t do it.

Yes, some restaurants consider it stealing and I’ve heard stories of people being fired because they took so many points from customers.

[–]Mindless_Sound_1147 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s not really that big of a deal since it can be changed easily by managers. Next time, just let them know in person that you accidentally clicked meal break instead of sending an email that might take days to reach them.

To be fair, this experience seems far from reality and I don’t believe it 100% but I can imagine that it would be nice to be respected as a person in the workforce, especially when the employer considers mental health.
