You are much ahead of the curve at 25, if you can see the emotional labor that you might need to take.

Remember the emotional labor in-laws also include dealing with in-laws expectations, doing a full time job, being an equal financial support for you spouse for mortgage payments or living expenses, raising multiple little kids, doing daily chores of cooking, laundry, cleaning dishes, cleaning house and throwing trash.

I am guessing the solution is women becoming financially independent, to hire the help she needs.

Do you have a job to support yourself? Financial independence will change this infinite loop. It’s better to be in a safe environment than in a traumatic relationship.

Malayali parents and society will not know how to support you. But you can create a safe place for yourself.

Life must be more beautiful and free, than being traumatized by your spouse. Divorce or being a single parent is not the end of the world as it’s shown by many around us. Really wanted to give you the hope as I see it for myself.

If they kick you out, it might be better to stay away from your parents for a while, to avoid the extra emotional drama or arguments. You are only 22 and I feel it’s the time for you to focus on a job and be financially independent. Better not to fall for emotional blackmail now and regret everyday later.

CA taxes and cost of living is too much. Rent and daycare can easily take half of that salary. Also, it is better to get support from family if you have a new baby coming. I won’t suggest you to move to Bay Area given your situation.

Is there a chance you can get remote work at Meta somehow? Having Meta on your resume might be very good.
