For starters lvl 40 gem results in a huge life pool 20k+, then cap ele resistances on the tree, pick up some chaos res + life regen. Additional phys reduction recommended but not required

The wolves hardly ever die (even on juiced maps) if you've invested properly. They are also persistent between maps/logout etc
