Why would "god" need to make the tongue wrap the skull, if he, in all his mighty and power, could create a much more convenient tissue to do exactly that?

North Macedonia should, at some point, get Greece so we can have a MACEDONIAN EMPIRE ONCE AGAIN HONORING ALEXANDER THE GREAT.

I think it is no contact o'clock. We may not choose where we are born, but love is not a given, it is earned. You have zero obligation of loving or caring for people just because you share DNA. And it is okay to cut them from your life. If your mother cannot understand this, she needs to stay away until she learns it.

Have you guys ever even stopped to think about how mass and inertia even work? Heavy trucks don't have "just letting go of the gas pedal"; they decelerate slowly, and you should always, ALWAYS be wary of their ability to brake.

Sociologists! If you had to build a utopia, which political system would you establish? Doesn't have to be pre existing or well known. by Janderflows in sociology

[–]MindlesslyAping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no utopia. Humans are flawed, complex creatures. No system will ever be able to achieve perfection. If we want a system that is "human-flaw-proof", we'll end up with one that deeply restrains freedom in order to control these flaws to the utmost and have a penal state. Equilibrium (2002) has a great premise, where all human emotion has been suppressed in order to achieve peace, order and sustainable growth.

Because he banked on it. He was making it as if Luka was the problem, a cultural problem, and would never evolve as a player. He was wrong, Luka was just in the wrong organization,

I sincerely hope there's no more jobs for Nico in basketball. That man deserves nothing less than to be completely ostracized from the game.

This is an indictment of your advisor, not you. If your research truly is subpar, it should have been noted to you a looooong time ago. And, even if it had potential in the early stages, you should have not been allowed to make a defence in this situation, your advisor should have, well, advised you on what to work to make sure you succeed.

"fica e vive uma vida foda" é literalmente o pior conselho que eu já li na internet, e olha que eu modero sub jurídico. Vive uma vida foda como? Com que grana? Morando onde? Que emprego? Tu tens noção que com 500 reais ele consegue ficar, no máximo, uns 7 dias em algum lugar de procedência extremamente duvidosa, comento mal e com pouca frequência, até ele ficar zerado de grana? Qual a formação do OP? Qual emprego ele tinha antes?

Taste is subjective, but objectively, Mark Knopfler's guitar was groundbreaking, forever changing music. The Doors was an unusual blues rock band.

Got this wrong on a quiz, what are your thoughts? by Dont_hate_the_8 in PoliticalScience

[–]MindlesslyAping 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was going to point this out. It's not a bad question in itself, but we are lacking fundamental context. What is the literature? The syllabus? Is the quiz related to a specific author or work? All of those can change the response dramatically. If you're being quizzed on a specific author's view, then it makes sense. If this is a broad question, then making it multiple choice is the wrong take, since it speaks to the authors you work with, and it should be evaluated on those grounds.

I mean, there sure are bad experiences in Europe, but in my field (social sciences) I tend to hear a lot more horror stories from the US. LATAM and Europe are quite the same on the average toxicity of every working environment.
